[CONT](VC):You may pay “Choose a grade 3 from your drop zone, and bind it face up.” as the cost for Stride. [AUTO](VC):[Soul Blast (1)] When your G unit Stride, you may pay the cost. If you do, choose up to one of any players’ rear-guards, and put it on the bottom of the deck. If you put one card, search your deck for up to one with grade+1 than the card put due to this effect, call it to (RC), and shuffle your deck.

No V Era Gear Chronicle looks likely to rear its ugly head any time soon, so you’re basically stuck with this if you’re playing Premium and you’re a stingy motherfucker (although anyone who plays Gears competitively generally isn’t synonymous with ‘stingy’). Zodiac Time Beasts enjoys a period of good competitive spotlight, so I’m slightly hesitant to heap any further praise on it, but it’s easily the cheapest Stride-based G3, being basically free and the Stride skill offering a +2 overall, so if nothing else you can enjoy shitting on the dreams of small children until Standard, then it’s their turn to shit all over yours (because what ruins an enjoyable thing is other people).

3.5/5

(For those of you who prefer things on the opposite ends of the spectrum, check this mess out for the Bottom 10 of the G Era)

What’s up, Rogue Squad?!  For those that don’t know, I’m not exactly the biggest Gear Chronicle fan, and having to see this card pop up to review just grinds my gears…kinda pun attended.  Jet Z is still a great card, and since Gears apparently isn’t getting anymore support this year means that this is the best the deck will get for the 2018 year, which is still great considering that it’s an easy +2 for you should you spin one of their rear-guards to call one of your own, and the free Stride cost is solid as ZTB utilize the bind zone really damn well.  I’m just glad to not have to worry about seeing Gears for the Standard format for a while.
