Evil little bastard – if you don’t ride this first. This is one of those late G3s that some will probably drop Navelgazer Dragon for, if they feel the loss of consistency is worth it. And I do think it’s worth it – 7/10 times you’ll ride Maelstrom, then Glory Maelstrom, according to some maths I can’t be bothered to dig up anymore, so it’s not inconsistent enough to ignore. Once he does go off though, this is where your big finishing move after Maelstrom’s pressure adds up. With an extra 10k, the opponent can only ever throw out a single card plus optional intercept to block, so anything that will need two cards to block will break through. Only out is the opponent having a lot of triggers to defend with which make up enough shield on their own, since AqF is about small pokes, and lots of them.
We would love more volunteers to help us with our Card of the Day reviews. If you want to share your ideas on cards with other fans, feel free to drop us an email. We’d be happy to link back to your blog / YouTube Channel / etc. 😉
