Welcome to “Cards That Too Many People Used Wrong Week”, where we examine cards professionally used incorrectly in their least effective way possible at major tournaments, because venting at people’s past stupidity is as good a way to pass the time until June 26th.

Anyway, Starcall Trumpeter here was obviously meant for Majesty Lord Blaster decks back in the day…and to be perfectly honest, it should never have been included at all. How would this been better than simply maxing your copies of Blaster Blade and Blaster Dark instead of the stupid option by running LESS of them for this and not running Gancelot to make things easier for the combo to go off? There was no comfortable way to use this owing to the steep Counterblast and the fact both of MLB’s cost cards were usually in the front row, WHERE STARCALL TRUMPETER USUALLY IS.

Also, you couldn’t make an 18k lane with her. That’s bad against the End and even Phantom Blaster Overlord.

God, honestly, I cannot count the games I snatched where they made the mistake of using Starcall and then continued to make many more after that.
