Spring-Heralding Maiden, Ozu
Ratings are based on a 1 to 5 scale. 1 is bad. 3 is average. 5 is great.
Okay, I just wanted to showcase a new rule coming to Vanguard: the whole deal with starters. Ozu here gives you something called a Quick Shield Ticket: it’s separate from your main deck, and you only get it if you’re riding to Grade 1 second. Think of it as a free 5k shield, yours to defend with or just discard from the hand as a cost for whatever. That is the case for EVERY starter so even the older ones without reprints will let you get the ticket. Is that something I think is going to change anything? Eh, in theory it’s one more freebie if you need PG fodder for some deadly on-hit G3 (and there are quite a lot I can name) but I suppose wanting to have something to check a bad rushdown was understandable, because I’ve had a surprising amount of games I’ve ended before the opponent got to Grade 3.
So that’s how the game goes now. I just thought I ought to tell you.
5/5 (they’re like Perfect Guards really, you can’t exactly function properly without a starter)
