Silver Thorn Dragon Tamer, Luquier
– #V-BT06/005EN (VR)
Ratings are based on a 1 to 5 scale. 1 is bad. 3 is average. 5 is great.
So assuming you max all your Silver Thorns that aren’t the starter, you’re looking at 40/50 cards being pure Silver Thorns (there’s a Silver Thorn promo, but it’s not out in English yet). A decent number, although being archetype restricted hurts the ability to actually play around with it. As for the actual call itself, CB2 and a -1 to bring a board out sounds steep, but when you consider the other Silver Thorn G3, it makes sense, otherwise this would be able to be too easily abused. The other skill to gain 10k is nice, especially as it’s actually useable on both circles, and we’re hard up for powerful attacks sometimes in Pale Moon.
I have my quibbles, obviously: as always, any card that requires an empty field to work properly and efficiently is not a good sell, but there is at least the backup G3 that empties the board somewhat efficiently (but strikes me as a bit dumb to do for that exact purpose), and the card itself is no Sentinel sealer or restanding Vanguard, but it works. It works.
Not bad, but sucks that it requires buying an entirely new deck just to use her.
We would love more volunteers to help us with our Card of the Day reviews. If you want to share your ideas on cards with other fans, feel free to drop us an email. We’d be happy to link back to your blog / YouTube Channel / etc. 😉
