[AUTO](VC) Thunderstrike 4 (This ability is active when your opponent’s bind zone has four or more cards):At the beginning of your ride phase, Counter Charge (1) or Soul Charge (1), your opponent chooses a card from his or her drop zone, and binds it face up. [AUTO](VC):[Counter Blast (1)] When your G unit Stride, you may pay the cost. If you do, your opponent chooses a card from his or her drop zone, and binds it face up. Then, if the G unit Stride has the thunderstrike ability, your opponent chooses one of his or her rear-guards, retires it, and binds it face up.

New Vanquisher starts off Narukami week. Now this one doesn’t have the defensive shenanigans of old Vanquisher, but as a payoff, you get to resource recharge at Thunderstrike 4 and bind more stuff, and blow up more than just the front row, but you need to Stride into a Thunderstrike G Unit and you don’t get to pick what dies.

That unfortunately means that it’s basically VBUSTER, VMAX, or Voltechzapper as far as GOOD Thunderstrike G Units go, which is a bit prohibitive. Not to say that’s bad: VBUSTER’s a +1, VMAX is the finisher, and Voltechzapper’s a nice field bomb as long as you have the right cards loaded up. I ask for a bit more variety though, but changing this card would probably unbalance it.

If man can live on VBUSTER, VMAX and Voltechzapper alone…good for you. You probably can, but try to keep options open. At least Mighty Bolt Dragoon lets you pick the most relevant one.
