When I first saw THE BLOOD, I wasn’t too impressed at first. Certainly needing to put a certain unit into the soul to gain 10k and Critical isn’t GREAT, especially with the already existing Gauntlet Buster Dragon who has it online constantly and doesn’t need as much effort to keep, but it does compensate with a +1 Drive Check after. Alone, the card isn’t amazing. But frankly, it’s only because of the newly released Spark Arrow Dragon and Thunder Varret Dragon that the deck actually becomes a somewhat feasible engine.

The second skill is basically one where you basically HAVE to rely on the opponent not having a Perfect Guard AND you have to be already winning, because otherwise despite the +1, the extra damage is not going to do you any favours later in the game – I find that you’re only going to profit from more advantage if the opponent is just naturally damaging you over the course of a game. Taking yourself from 3 damage to 4 for example is a horrible play because now you’re in Late Game, and now must use up more shield just to not die, which you may need later.

All in all it may be simpler to continue with the Gauntlet Buster/Descendant engine because it just needs less to function, or just run Vanquisher. THE BLOOD’s nice, but not the best Narukami deck for your buck.
