OCG Deck Help - Vandorgaron Deck

Well, everyone, I’m back again; this time with a new section on my Look Into the Future page, the OCG Deck Help section. Since this is my first OCG Deck Help article, I’d like to set a few guidelines for everyone to follow about how exactly this will work.

1. Simply send your OCG (Japanese) Deck list(s) to dm7fgd32@hotmail.com

2. If you’re asking for Deck help, you will (most likely) not receive an e-mail back from me. I will simply be choosing one or two Decks at a time out of all of the e-mails that I receive to be reviewed here in my OCG Deck Help section, so keep checking here to see if your Deck is chosen.

3. If you send my your Deck list(s) using English names, I’ll be using English names in my review of your Deck. If you send me your Deck list(s) using Japanese names, I’ll be using Japanese names in my review of your Deck.

4. If I have not reviewed any OCG-only card (not yet released in English) that I mention in a Deck Help article in my Look Into the Future section, I will provide a translation (name, type and Effect) of the card somewhere in the article. If I have reviewed any OCG-only card that I mention in a Deck Help article in my Look Into the Future section, then I will provide a link to the article in which the card was reviewed.

Alright, now, for my first OCG Deck Help article, I’ll be taking a look at a Dark King Dragon - Vandorgaron Deck sent in by Ben (FLyboy). Let’s see how the Deck looks before I make any suggestions..

Fusion Deck: 2

Total Cards: 41 + 2 Fusion

Let’s start out with the Monsters. Five/Six high-level Monsters is just going to be too many in this Deck. The Horus Dragons can be nice with the power and Magic protection, but they are not necessary whatsoever, and there are plenty of other Monsters out there that will be easier and more beneficial to use in this Deck of yours.

Get rid of the LV8 and one of the LV6’s, as well as the Fusilier Dragon. Throw in a Tribe-Infecting Virus to get rid of opponent’s Monsters easily. It will be much more beneficial than those extra high-level Monsters. A Kycoo would be beneficial to combat Chaos and opposition Revival. Or, if you want more options for the DDVD, you could add in a Stealth Bird instead, which will also be able to get a decent amount of Burn damage done (Even a Swarm of Scarabs or Swarm of Locusts could be good additions, helping with DDVD and getting rid of more of your opponent‘s Monsters or Magic/Trap Cards). The rest of the Monster lineup looks good, although a Spirit Reaper might be more helpful than the Marshmallon in here when using DDVD, but that one is up to you.

The Magic Cards are good as is. However, I personally would not recommend using the Metamorphosis and Fusion Monsters. I would suggest dropping the Metamorphosis for a Devil’s Sanctuary ( http://www.pojo.com/yu-gi-oh/FeaturedWriters/DM7FGD/2004/5-13.shtml ). Devil’s Sanctuary can help you get some extra damage done, force your opponent to stall a little bit, help with DDVD, and the high-level Monsters. It’s a pretty versatile card.

As for the Traps, I would simply suggest getting rid of one of the Trap Jammers (they won’t work too well too often) and adding in a Magic Drain for more Vandorgaron Burn support. Either that, or make your opponent get rid of an extra Magic Card. A second Book of Moon would be helpful, as well, to help with your Spear Dragons and Nobleman of Crossout, protect some of your weaker Monsters, and your Life Points.

So here is what the final result would look like.

Monster Cards: 15

2x Dark King Dragon - Vandorgaron
1x Horus the Black Flame Dragon LV6
2x Spear Dragon
2x Night Assailant
1x Kycoo the Ghost Destroyer

Until next time..
