If a monster(s) with 2500 original ATK or DEF is Normal or Special Summoned to your field (except during the Damage Step): You can Special Summon this card from your hand in Defense Position. If this card is Special Summoned: You can target 1 “Dark Magician” or “Blue-Eyes White Dragon” in your Monster Zone; it gains 2500 ATK/DEF until the end of this turn. You can only use each effect of “Chronicle Magician” once per turn.

5000 Card of the Day posts? Let’s celebrate with a new Blue-Eyes/Dark Magician support card: Chronicle Magician.
Chronicle Magician is a Level 7 DARK Spellcaster with 2500 ATK and DEF. Nice stats and another good Type and Attribute with Spellcaster and DARK. First effect lets you Special Summon this card from the hand in Defense Position if a monster(s) with an original ATK or DEF of 2500 is Normal or Special Summoned. Well it works with all the protaganist cards since they all have 2500 ATK, just not all the rival cards since some of those have 2000 DEF instead of 2500. It at least works for Blue-Eyes, cause the second effect benefits him and Dark Magician where upon Special Summoning this guy, you can have a Dark Magician or Blue-Eyes White Dragon in your Monster Zone gain 2500 ATK and DEF for the turn, which is a significant boost to make Blue-Eyes 5500/5000 or Dark Magician 5000/4600. Hard once per turn on each effect, as expected. The card is fine, honestly. Doesn’t add too much to Blue-Eyes with the qualities it has, but it’s fine Dark Magician support at the very least to make Rank 7s.

5000 Cards?!? How old am I again? To paraphrase Grandpa Simpson ‘I use to play the game. Then they changed what the game was. Now, what I play isn’t the game, and the game seems weird and scary to me.’
Anyway, Chronicle Magician is a Level 7, Dark/Spellcaster Monster, both great things, with Dark Magician atk (and a matching defense). Chronicle Magician is one of those cards that supports Dark Magician, as well as Blue Eyes White Dragon, for a strange twist. You can Special Summon this from the Hand, in Defense position, if you Special Summon a Monster(s) with 2500 atk or def, as long as it’s not the Damage Step. Par for the course there. But again, to support DM and BEWD, either of them fit the bill to bring this card out. Plenty of Monster options on both sides for that effect to pop off. Secondly, if Special Summoned, you can Target a DM or BEWD you control and increase its atk and def by 2500 for the Turn. A 2500 boost for a Monster is insane. A 2500 boost for a Monster that all ready has 2500 or 3000 atk is…terrifying. I honestly feel despite being a Spellcaster, this might actually be a tad more useful for a BEWD player, but I think it’s more or less even for both. It’s definitely one of those fun cards…one players will, and won’t use…it’s useful, but it’s not particularly game breaking.
