Now that we got all the cards from the Legendary Gold Box, let’s go back through and look at them all, plus a few extras, starting with Blue-Eyes Abyss Dragon.

Abyss Dragon is a Level 8 LIGHT Dragon with 2500 ATK and DEF. Fine stats for Level 8, plus a nice combination of LIGHT and Dragon. First effect triggers if Special Summoned, letting you add a Ritual Spell or a Polymerization from your Deck to your hand. It’s a nice way to ensure Blue-Eyes can get to Ritual or Fusion options, I do wish the search wasn’t for just Polymerization and could get more Fusion Spells instead, especially since you can get any Ritual Spell, depsite only really ever going for Chaos Form or Advanced Ritual Art in Blue-Eyes as those are really the only Ritual Spells they get use out of. Second effect triggers during the End Phase, letting you add any Level 8 or higher Dragon from your Deck to your hand, which is a nice search considering there are several good Level 8 or higher Dragons. Sucks it’s at the End Phase, but I guess more ways to search powerful Dragons in the Main Phase might be too good. Finally, you can banish this card from the graveyard to have all Level 8 or higher Dragons you control gain 1000 ATK, which is a decent boost for some already strong monsters. Each effect is a hard once per turn and these effects can only be used while Blue-Eyes White Dragon is on field or in grave, which is fine considering you should probably get to Blue-Eyes White Dragon pretty fast in a dedicated Blue-Eyes Deck. Abyss Dragon is a nice card for Blue-Eyes overall, nothing broken, but it’s a fine card to have in the Deck since you can summon it pretty easily.

Advanced Rating: 3.5/5

Art: 4.5/5 I know the memes of this card, and while I don’t really care for them, I do like the artwork.
