V-Z against the world tourney report

Hey y'all it's the Lightning Cat with some tournament action. Well it was less a tournament than it was an exhibition. You see the tenth was my birthday so the owner of the shop let me choose a handful of players to take on. Also we were playing host to a few students from a local elementary school, so we had video cameras and a large screen showing each move as they were made. All in all it was a fun day although my deck really didn't show up. Well I guess I'll rock the deck list first and then get to the action.

I know what most of you are probably thinking, and no I am no beginner.
I've been playing for almost five years. I ran XYZ for almost a year and a half before the last two parts came out. It was only natural to play the entire thing. Yes, there is no Breaker, Monarchs or Cyber Dragons. Well lets get onto the action.

Game #1: Chris (V-Z) vs Matt (Spellcasters) I win the coin toss and go first. Summon X-Head Cannon and end. Matt summons Skilled Dark Magician and activates Lightning Vortex. I take 1900pts of damage. He sets 1s/t and ends. I set Y-Dragon Head and end. He summons Gemini Elf and has the twins destroy my monster. Skilled Dark deals more direct damage. I summon Shining Angel and activate last will. Angel slams into Skilled Dark allowing me to summon both Y and Z. They get removed to summon the YZ-Tank Dragon. He sacs both mons to summon the Dark Magician. THe DM destroys my defense mode Tank Dragon. Matt reveals face down trap to be Royal Decree. I play L. Vortex and summon another X and attack. A 2nd Gemini appears and my machine is a goner. I set V-Tiger Jet and end. The elf twins make short work of that machine as well. I play Frontline Base and special summon Z, and set Magician of Faith. Magician'
Valkyria comes out and both of my monsters get smoked. MoF allowed me to grab Vortex. I play Vortex again but discard a much needed Soul Release.
Matt sets 1 s/t and ends. I play Heavy Storm and end. Mausoleum of the Emperor is played and it's my turn again. I draw and set M.S.T and end.
Matt draws and ends. I draw and set Return. Use Typhoon to destroy Masoleum. Another Skilled Dark hits the field, followed by a 2nd copy of the fore mentioned field spell. My end of turn I draw dead and take my first loss.

Game 2 Chris (V-Z) vs Ryan (Dragons)
Okay Ryan is my best friend and we've had many hair raising battles. I was sure this would be one of them. I lost the die roll and Ryan goes first.
He sets one in each and ends. I play Frontline Base and normal summon X-Head Cannon. Z-Metal Tank is special summoned. X atks the first, destroying Masked Dragon. Z destroys the same named monster after it's special summoned and Divine Dragon Ragnarok takes it's place. I fuse my two machines to get the XZ-Tank Cannon. In response Ryan flips Dragon's Rage.
RJ plays Upstart Goblin and ends. I summon V-Tiger Jet and use it to destroy the Divine Dragon. XZ atks directly. Spear Dragon is summoned and it atks my V. On my turn I use my fusion's effect to destroy the f/d Torrential Tribute. XZ atks and destroys Spear Dragon. Ryan sets a mon and ends. XZ blows the Goddess with the Third Eye away. Another Spear Dragon is set and destroyed. I end my turn after the atk. (I should have set
Torrential) RJ plays Dragon's Mirror and summons the Five Headed Dragon.
Its atk deals major damage to my lp. Ryan sets another monster and ends. I summon Shining Angel and set Torrential. Stamping Destruction eliminates my trap and I'm dealt major damage once again. Y-Dragon Head is the target of the angel's effect. I summon X and rock out Z through Fronline's magic.
The XYZ-Dragon Cannon is formed and with a discard of Dimension Fusion the Five Headed Dragon is no more. I atk and destroy Sangan, which searches Lord of D. Ryan grimises at his draw and ends. I Soul Release my V-Tiger Jet and W-Wing Catapult and set MoF. XYZ deals full damage to RJ's lp.
Wanting to stall Ryan plays Swords of Revealing Light. MoF activates and I get Dimension Fusion back. I play my spell bringing back my W,V and X, but also his five dragon from his earlier fusion. I summon the VW-Tiger Catapult, then tribute it and my XYZ to summon the supreme V-Z Dragon Catapult Cannon! I remove Swords from play (dumb) and use the V-Z to atk Divine Dragon. X atks Spear Dragon and I end my turn. With that I'm handed my 2nd loss as Spear Dragon is switched to atk mode and nails my MoF.

Game 3 Chris vs Danny(E-heroes)
Danny may just be a young one but his E-Hero deck has gained the respect of every player in the shop. That is after he used it to stomp a mudhole in a Chimeratech OTK and walk it dry. I win the toss and go 1st. I summon Y-Dragon Head and set Negate. Danny's opening move was impressive...Thunder Giant. He discards Burstinatrix for the Gian't effect and I take 2400. I set Wishes and W-Wing Catapult. The Warrior Returning Alive is played and Burst is returned to Danny's hand. T.Giant atks and gets Negated. At end of turn I flip Wishes. I use Swords oRL to stall.
Danny plays Fusion Recovery and gets Poly and Sparkman. He summons King of the Swamp, the polys it and Sparkman. Ladies and gents say hello to Elemental Hero Shining Flare Wingman. I wummon V-Tiger Jet and get the VW-Tiger Catapult. T.Gian is switched to def and gets destroyed by my Catapult. Danny draws and ends. I set V againg and end. He repeats his earlier move of drawing and ending, but looks pretty content with his hand.
I draw and end. Danny summons Bursty and then plays Miracle Fusion. He removes King of the Swamp and Bursty to summon E-Hero Flame Wingman. Flame Wingman destroys V-Tiger Jet and Shining Flare Wingman knocks off my fusion.
I can't win at this point and fold. Three losses in a row, something needs to change.

Game 4 Chris vs Tiarrie (Burn)
Okay before this name is pronounced horribly wrong here is the proper way to say it. Start with tiarria(the thing you wear on your head) but replace the a with an e and there you go. With three losses I'd have to pull out a miracle here. I know it's just an exhibition and for fun but a win in my own tourney would be nice. I win the toss and go first. I summon Z-Metal Tank and set Typhoon. Tiarrie plays Restructor Revolution and burns me for 800pts. sets 1 mon and equips Z with Mask of the Accursed. I summon W-Wing Catapult and Typhoon the f/d Gravity Bind. W atks f/d Des Koala and I take a combined total of 1600pts. The koala is sacked for Thestalos, which ditches a Return. Testy atks and destroys my W. I summon a 2nd Metal Tank and play last will. Suicide the newly summoned Z to get a Y-Dragon Head.
YZ makes a def mode appearence. Secret Barrel is played in response to the suicide and I take more damage by the way. Rapid Fire Magician is summoned and Final Flame is played. Thesty destroys my YZ and Rapid Fire ends my lp.
4 losses in a row!?

Game 5 Chris vs Kyle (Vechroids)
Kyle is Danny's older brother, 16, and nearly defeated the duelist his brother beat, with the Vechroid deck. I lose the die roll and Kyle decides to go 2nd. I summon Shining Angel and set Magic Cylinder. Kyle summons Drillroid and equips it with 7 Completed. I take the atk and summon Z-Metal Tank. He sets 1 s/t and ends. I draw and set Return. Activate Typhoon to destroy f/d which is Emergency Provisions which gets chained. I summon X Head Cannon and atk the now weaked Drillroid with it. Z atks directly and in M.P. 2 the XZ Tank Cannon is summoned. Kyle sets 1 mon and ends. I summon Y-Dragon Head and flip Return. XYZ hits the field and a discard destroys the f/d Gyroid. Both mons wage an atk on Kyl's lp. He sets another mon and ends. XYZ goes off again, Decoyroid is gone and the Dragon Cannon ends things.

Game 6 Chris vs Mara (Amazoness)
Okay this is a long game and I'm not going to bore you with every detail.
It goes back and forth for a while with Mara keeping the pressure on with multiple summonings of Amazoness Paladin and Swordswoman. She gets me pretty low until I'm able to summon the V-Z Dragon Catapult Cannon. This is how the game ended. I have V-Z on the field with a f/d MoF. I flip the spellcaster to get back my Limiter Removal and sac the lady for my Jinzo. I use V-Z's ability to remove a face up Warrior Lady of the Wasteland and have Jinzo atk Amazoness Paladin. V-Z atks the f/d monster on Mara's side, which happens to be a MoF. I do a quick calculation in my head and rock out Limiter. The Dragon Catapult Cannon hits MoF dealing 5700pts and ending this game. Well it was long, but fun at the same time. Really this duel took up one whole side of a sheet of paper. WOW!

Game 7 Chris vs Randy (Normal)
Never doubt the power of normal monsters. They are evil and not cool. I lose the roll and Randy goes 1st. He summons Mad Dog of Darkness and plays Two Man Cell Battle. At end of turn he summons Sabersaurus. I set V-Tiger Jet and Negate Attack. He summons a 2nd Sabersaurus and atks, but I Negate.
I set Y and Torrential. Randy's two dinos knock off my monsters and the Mad Dog hits my lp. I summon Z and flip Torrential. I Soul Release V, Y, and Z and set Return. Randy sets two more s/t and ends. I summon W-Wing Catapult and flip Return. Both the YZ Tank Dragon and VW Tiger Catapult are summoned. He flips Call of the Haunted and gets Sabersaurus. VW atks the dino, but Justi-Break activates. He sets a mon and atks with Sabersaurus.
I draw and end for yet another loss.

Game 8 Chris vs Skye (MechDragons)
Skye's deck was stolen at a Regional last year so I let her borrow my MechDragon deck. It should be a fun duel no matter how long it lasts. I win the toss but knowing the deck allow Skye to go first. She plays Poly right off the bat and gets a Gatling Dragon out with Blowback and King of the Swamp. She then summons Yellow Gadget. I play Graceful Charity and ditch X-Head Cannon and V-Tiger Jet. I Premature Burial V and summon W-Wing Catapult. The fusion is summoned after Torrential is set. I discard to switch Gatling to def, and then atk. She plays Re-fusion and gets her fusion monser back. She also summons Green Gadget, which activates Torrential. I summon X-Head Cannon and atk. She plays Mausoleum of the Emperor and pays 2k for the Angient Gear Gadjitron Dragon (or whatever it's called), and atks my X. I set X, Call and Return. She sets a mon and atks with the AGG Dragon. I draw and end. She flips Dekoichi and summons Machine King Prototype. I take an amazing 6200 pts of damage and on my turn take a final loss.
Okay, so I lost.... alot. We had fun and the crowd did to. We also sold a lot of boosters that day as well as the custom decks featured in the exhibition. (Mine was the 2nd highest selling of the day. Got outsold by the E-Hero deck but that's probably because of Jaden. Heh we may never know for sure.) Anyway on to props and slops
