Winter Regionals_King of the Skull Servants_Card Heaven, Windsor, VIc, Australia Date: 23/07/05 Venue: Card Heaven Lv1, 105 Chapel St Windsor, VIC, Australia Name: Hai Tran UDE No.:106-811-609 MAIN DECK 40 Monsters 17 1 Vampire Lord 3 King of the Skull Servants 2 Skull Servant 2 Pyramid Turtle 2 Tsukuyomi 2 Magician of Faith 1 Sangan 1 Cyber Jar 1 Spirit Reaper 1 Tribe Infecting Virus 1 Sinister Serpent Spells 17 1 Pot of Greed 1 Delinquent Duo 1 Premature Burial 1 Mystical Space Typhoon 1 Graceful Charity 1 Book of Moon 1 Nobleman of Crossout 1 Heavy Storm 1 Swords of Revealing Light 1 Lightning Vortex 1 Snatch Steal 1 Scapegoat 3 Book of Life 2 Metamorphosis Traps 6 1 Torrential Tribute 2 Gravity Bind 1 Chain Destruction 1 Ring of Destruction 1 Call of the Haunted FUSION DECK 7 3 Thousand-Eyes Restrict 1 Reaper on the Nightmare 1 Fiend Skull Dragon 1 Dark Blade the Dragon Knight 1 Ojama King SIDE DECK 15 1 Sasuke Samurai 1 Mobius the Frost Monarch 1 Ceasefire 1 Waboku 1 Bottomless Trap Hole 1 Giant Trunade 2 Smashing Ground 1 My Body as a Shield 1 Creature Swap 2 Level Limit - Area B 1 Nobleman of Crossout 1 Card Destruction 1 Wave-Motion Cannon Regionals seemed to come very quickly after the Aus nationals. I thought that this would be the perfect time to really test out my new deck that I built 2wks prior to this tournament. Ever since I saw this monster and the TLM Sneak Preview, I thought "I have to somehow use this card". My prototype started well by beating a couple of variant Chaos decks, but it wasn't enough. This deck lineup is far from finished, and still needs to evolve, and I still need to get the side deck right. Well onto the 5 round tourney: RND 1 vs Chaos deck This guy was obviously good coz he made it to the semi finals of the top 8. Duel 1 - It was a nice and close duel with the advantage constantly swinging, until the late game when my Tsukuyomi flipped his BLS f/d and then I crossed it. Then my Vampire was sweeping all of his monsters off the field. - He then top decked a Call of the Haunted and set it. - I drew MST and activated it targeting his f/d Call, he chained with it and Called back his Jinzo. - My bad, that alone won the match for him. Duel 2 - It was another closely fought battle but he flipped his Morphing Jar and got the cards he needed for the win. not a the greatest of starts. 0-1 RND 2 Dont remember a thing about this duel, but I know that I won. Must av bumped my head that hard to forget this exact moment in time... 1-1 RND 3 vs Chaos This little kid is regular at this store, and I regard as one of the good duelists here. Duel 1 - My King of the Skull Servants got him early and got him good. - I managed to recycle my Pot once and it was enough. - He didn't really bother or cared about King of the Skull Servants's effect until I told him that the bag of bones was at 3000ATK Duel 2 - In the mid-late game I Vortex'd his field and got out 2 King of the Skull Servants on 2000ATK each and just kept him down and left him top-decking. - He managed to topdeck a BLS and summoned it in defence mode, but strangely did not remove anything for 2 turns. I think he was feeling down for losing to me in the 1st duel. - I couldn't do anything since 2000ATK wasn't strong enough to go through his BLS - I think I Tsuku'd BLS and Crossed it and attacked for the win. 2-1 RND 4 vs a young woman I don't exactly know her age so "young woman" will do justice. As soon as I knew I was dueling her I knew I was in trouble coz she's good, and as expected she reached the Semis Duel 1 - Match was going both ways each of us taking - I eventually got her down to less than 1000LP and I was on 2000LP - At this point she was constantly asking what our life points were on. - She summoned her Blade Knight and attacked my Pyramid Turtle and summoned my Vamp Lord - I Snatched her Blade Knight - Again she queried about our LP's - Something in my mind was telling me to turn into conservative mode but I didn't - I used her Blade Knight to attack her f/d monster - This is when I was in 2 minds about attacking with my Vamp Lord. - Oh how I wished that I had a Book of Moon in my hand. - Anyway my V. Lord ran into a Cylinder and I was reduced to 0LP <_< >_> nooooooooo! Duel 2 - Another mistake cost me the duel - I saved my Graceful Charity until I was happy I had something I was willing to discard, until she snatched my powerful King of the Skull Servants and saced it to summoned her Jinzo. - I then used my Graceful since I had nothing for the situation and would lose if I had done nothing. - one of the cards I drew was a snatch steal. I already had a Tsukuyomi and Metamorphosis and something else. - I did the stooopid thing by discarding my Tsukuyomi. - I preceded to Snatch her Jinzo and attacked directly. If I had kept my Tsukuyomi, I could have kept the Jinzo! - anyway she topdecked a heavy storm and attacked for the win. <_< >_> again, noooooooooo! 2-2 RND 5 vs Old school beatdown Plenty of beatdown (including beastdown) monsters with Drop Off's and Time Seal's. I normally don't underestimate ppl, but this guy was the exception. Duel 1 - He hasn't played long enough for him to become a major threat. I can't believe my loss led me to become matched up with this guy. Duel 2 - My powered up King of the Skull Servants was just too much for him. 3-2 Disappointingly I came 9th out of 31 ppl. Just missed out on the top 8 playoff. Oh well, I only got 1 booster pack and only pulled out a silver rare. Now I just have to decide what cards to keep in and what to take out. I've gathered a lot of info about how my deck works and now I have to try to make it stronger. My friend told me about another King of the Skull Servant Chaos deck that was used in a regional tourney in Adelaide, which sounds much better than my own deck. I'm hearing a few other King of the Skull Servant decks are coming up. Well since I can't afford the one monster that makes chaos so strong (ie BLS) I dont think I'll be winning any regional tournaments any time soon. I'm not gonna give props or slops coz theyre quite obvious. I guess if you want to contact me then my email is hmtran@iprimus.com.au
