Cyber Petit Angel

This week, we look at the base Cyber Angel cards. I skipped yesterday’s card of the day, which was the basic ritual spell for the theme, and got right to the meat of the deck. These reviews will be made in anticipation of the future release of many powerful ritual monsters and spells that exist in the OCG, but have not yet arrived on other shores. And I include both the two newest Cyber Angel rituals and some non-Cyber Angels as well.

Before diving into all the ritual monsters, we look at the little angel that could. Cyber Petit Angel is just silly in its ability to search several times per duel. The best part about Petit is that normal summons in Cyber Angel decks come at a premium. A common build has maybe six monsters you can normal summon (3 Petit and 3 Manju), so there’s always an opportunity to summon Petit and get a plus before going off. But this can only go so far. What really makes Petit Angel so opportunistic is his harmony with Ritual Sanctuary, which lets you shuffle spells to summon fairies from the grave. And since Petit gets the plus no matter how he’s summoned and he’s such a low level, there’s the chance to summon him nearly every turn. If he had been level 1, it would have been broken beyond reason, but level 3 would have severely hampered the combo.

What else can be said about summoning searchers that hasn’t been said a million times? If you run Cyber Angels, you run this in triplicate, no debate. And seeing as Cyber Angels are only going to get better soon with the eventual release of Vishnu and Nasateiya, I see a fantastic future for this little guy.

Cyber Petite Angel

It's a typical searcher.  It can search via a Special Summon, like a Soul Charge perhaps, but it's rare you'll find a consistent and economical way to Special Summon it.  Having to Normal Summon this card in Attack Position leaves it vulnerable, but keep in mind you'll likely tribute it before your turn is over.

Manju is better.  It has better stats and it does the same thing, except you can search other Ritual monsters and not just Cyber Angels.  But more consistency can't hurt, I guess.

Hello Pojo Fans,

Cyber Angels have a lineup of Ritual Monsters we will be covering this week that have effects that rival Nekroz in terms of playability. It starts today with Cyber Petit Angel.

This little guy searches for you whenever it is summoned. Already better than Manju, Senju or Sonic Bird because of that. Manju-like, able to gather your Ritual Spell for the deck or any Cyber Angel monster. Being a Level 2, you won't be able to One For One this card, but there's a host of LIGHT support and Fairy support that makes up for that. Use this as fodder for the Ritual Summon as well the same turn just to set up another summon of it next turn to search again. Once per turn prevents mass searching, but one search a turn should be more than enough. You can Manju and Cyber Petit in one turn and use those two for a Ritual Summon.

Solid searcher for the archetype, though unlike Manju, Senju, and Sonic Bird, it lacks ATK, while the previously mentioned had standard ATK for searchers.

Yesterday was the main play for Cyber Angels. Today is the easy button summon. Cyber Petit Angel is a Level 2 Light Fairy-type monster with 300 Atk and 200 Def. While technically not a Cyber Angel monster, it can search any Cyber Angel monster or Machine Angel Ritual when it's summoned. Cyber Petit Angel can only do that once per turn, but there are no restrictions to how it's summoned. Normal Summon is the easy button summon to get a quick search of the most useful cards in the deck. Unfortunately, there are no other effects and this only works in Cyber Angel decks. If it searched any Ritual Spell, then it would have scored better. Oh well. I still believe there will be more support that this card can search later.
