Performapal Monkeyboard
- # BOSH-EN003

Pendulum Effect Unless you have a "Performapal" card in your other Pendulum Zone, this card's Pendulum Scale becomes 4. During your Main Phase, if this card was activated this turn: You can add 1 Level 4 or lower "Performapal" monster from your Deck to your hand. You can only use this effect of "Performapal Monkeyboard" once per turn. Monster Effect You can discard this card; reveal 1 "Performapal" or "Odd-Eyes" monster in your hand, and if you do, reduce the Levels of monsters in your hand with that name by 1 for the rest of this turn (even after they are Summoned/Set).

Card Rating
Advanced: 3.00

Ratings are based on a 1 to 5 scale
1 is Horrible. 3 is Average. 5 is the highest rating.

Performapal Monkeyboard is another of the new wave of Pendulum support that performs (heheh) simple tasks very well. It is a Level 6 Earth Beast-type Pendulum monster with 1000 Atk and 2400 Def and Scales of 1. Performapal has tons of inherent support, so the name is good and funny. Level 6 could have been 5 to be slightly better, especially with such low Atk. Its Def is a good block if necessary. Beast works with Diamond Dire Wolf since if Monkeyboard ever hits the field it is pretty much useless. Earth monsters are Earth monsters. I'm glad to see the lowest possible Scale, but there is a negative effect that can make it the worst possible Scale.

The first part of Performapal Monkeyboard's Pendulum effect is that without a Performapal in the other Pendulum Zone the Scales become 4. That shouldn't be too large of a problem, but it is still annoying. However, if you activate Monkeyboard, you can search any Level 4 or lower Performapal from your Deck to your hand. So if you then activate that Performapal to the other Pendulum Zone you should be good to go with a Pendulum Summon. The monster effect is too situational and costly to ever be useful. The cost is to discard itself, so it is going to the Graveyard instead of the Extra Deck. For your trouble, you can reveal a Performapal or Odd-Eyes monster in hand and make it one level lower for the rest of the turn. That might make something easier to Pendulum Summon, or turn something requiring tributes to be Normal Summoned without, but still not worth it. There is one good effect here, and ROTA effects are good, but I am sure that this monkey will be playing a sad tune for its dentist in the future.

Score: 3/5

Art: 4/5 An old joke that is well drawn.
