Elder Entity Norden

THIS was the card that everyone was waiting for to be released…

I say “Was” here as it was released about 1 month ago, so we have all had plenty of time to see just how good this is or isn’t and if its deserved the hype that proceeded it.

Well let me tell you, this has deserved every little bit of that hype as its has completely shaped the Meta around it. Although rather than use the word “Shaped” I probably should say warped!

Currently, Instant Fusion is the card that is being used to primarily Summon Elder Entity Norden, and because Summoning Elder Entity Norden is quite often so game breaking, Instant Fusion has been regularly taking up to 3 Deck slots and Elder Entity Norden has been taking up 2 of those oh so precious Extra Deck spaces.

And any card that consistently is given more than 1 Extra Deck space with any regularity in the Meta can only be nothing other than overwhelmingly good.

The existence of Elder Entity Norden and the justly increased use of Instant Fusion has already started what could only be described as an “Arms race”…

More Decks are Main Decking Maxx “C” in amounts of as many as 3, something that hasn’t occurred for quite a long time, and its also even made including Retaliating “C” in the Main Deck for some Decks actually quite playable and beneficial.

Additionally, to counter Maxx “C” those Decks that have space in the Extra Deck are also including a copy of Panzer Dragon, a card who can also be Summoned via Instant Fusion.

That such diversity can come about simply because of a single card just shows how it has effected the game simply in general.

This card has been included in the majority of Extra Decks, and there is actually very few Decks that just don’t benefit from this card.

The only downsides with this card, one which really is only a minor one is that if Elder Entity Norden leaves the field, the monster that it Summoned will be Banished, but truly, most of the time that should not really apply.

The biggest downside is that it Negates the effect(s) of the monster that it Summoned on the field, although even this has its loopholes in the instance of Summoning a monster like Card Trooper as its effect to mill cards is a cost. Also, Graveyard effects are not Negated so if you Summoned a Performage Trick Clown, when it goes to the Graveyard, its effect will still activate as normal.

Rating: 5. This card truly deserves this score, the ability to make a 1 card Rank 4 or a Level 5,6,7 or 8 Synchro with just the 1 card, Instant Fusion is simply insane.

Elder Entity Norden is so good that either it or Instant Fusion is certain to endure some sort of a hit through the Banlist.

This card will while it exists be able to potentially snare games from opponent’s that they should have never otherwise lost, and it is a card to be feared.

Elder Entity Norden

Turns Instant Fusion into a Monster Reborn and creates easy Rank-4's.  Easy to summon, very comboable and abusable.  One of the biggest threats out there.

After a week off, we return, and open the week with a Fusion Monster, in Elder Entity Norden.  This is a Level 4, Water attributed, Fairy Monster, which is strange enough in itself.  Furthermore, the Fusion Summoning requirement is equally strange.  You use two Synchro or XYZ Monsters, or one of each.  2000 attack isn't bad for a Level 4, but you'd want more from a Fusion.  You get a Level 4 or lower Special Summoned from your Graveyard, which is cool, (note you target it) and it's effect(s) is(are) negated, and it's removed from play when this card leaves the Field.  It would make a Level 4 XYZ easy, or a high level Synchro if you had a Tuner, but you're giving up those Materials just to bring this guy out.

Hello Pojo Fans,

With Instant Fusion unlimited in the TCG, Elder Entity Norden is a fantastic card to have in the Extra Deck. Good stats for a Level 4 and Special Summon capabilities when summoned make it very playable. Easily make a Rank 4 or set up a Synchro Summon, or use both monsters as fodder for tributes or card effects. Get around the banishing effect by making use of the monster Special Summoned by Elder before Elder leaves the field. Once in the grave, Elder can be used again and again with the endless amounts of Special Summoning effects within the game to reuse its effect. The fact that the monster Special Summoned by Elder has its effect(s) negated is almost irrelevant, especially if you revive a monster that has an effect that activates in the graveyard.

This cards playability hinges mostly on a way to get it quickly from the Extra Deck to the field (Instant Fusion being the best) Without that way, Elder isn't much of a card unless you play Fusion support and can commit the resources to Special Summon him, which wouldn't be worth the effect. If you have an Instant Fusion in your hand and a Level 4 or lower in your grave, or have the capabilities to do so, it could end up a big turn for you.

We're Back! And what a way to kick off the week! Elder Entity Norden is a Level 4 Water Fairy-type Fusion Monster with 2000 Atk and 2200 Def. The only stat that truly matters is that it's Level 4. Instant Fusion plus this make for great Rank 4 plays. I have also used it in Shaddolls to help bring out El Shaddoll Anoyatyllis because it is Water. I don't think being a Fairy helps or hinders anything. The Atk and Def are largely irrelevant because this thing won't be attacking or surviving long enough to defend, but they are good for Level 4.

Norden's effect is great. If you properly Fusion Summon him, you can keep Special Summoning him and keep gaining his effect. There is no once per turn or any real cost other than Special Summoning him. When he is Special Summoned, you can Special Summon a Level 4 or lower monster from the grave (in Atk or Def position) with negated effects and serious commitment issues. If Norden leaves the field, the summoned monster is banished. Of course, none of that should matter as you are going to be Synchro, XYZing, or tributing one or all the monsters on the field for awesome glory.
Speaking of commitment issues, this card is forever tied to Instant Fusion. If they ban Instant Fusion, the playability of this card plummets to the we-wish-we-could-give-0-out-of-5 scores.

Score: 5/5 There are maybe 2 decks that can't benefit from this effect.

I give credit to the team making these cards, they're trying really hard to incorporate Synchros, Fusions and XYZ monsters together. However, this one is a bit of a stretch. Norden is only a four-star monster, and only has 2000/2200 stats. Off the bat, you see what's wrong with this card; most Synchros and XYZ's are much, much stronger. It brings a Level 4 or less Monster back from the grave, but its effects are negated which doesn't bode well unless you're planning to XYZ-summon a four star monster like Gem Knight Pearl. But, wait.... why go through all of that when there are easier and faster ways to get two four-star monsters on the field? Pass.

Final Score: 1/5

ELDER ENTITY NORDEN

Well, well, well? So Norden is our COD today. This card opens up alot of rank 4 xyz's plays. Really this card is what makes Instant Fusion great. For 1000 life points you have easy access to any rank four. Norden is a card that if Instanat Fusion got banned I don't see people playing him. If he had the restriction that he could only be summoned by fusion using the xzy and/or Synchro monsters his effect would pay for himself and to me isn't worth it. But Norden is good card that I believe will see some play for some time just for the effect he has with other cards and xzys.
