Dark

Paladin
Friday

Prophecy Destroyer closes out the week, and wins the award for "I'm clearly a Fiend but classified as a Spellcaster because of my effect."  We have a Level 6, Dark attributed Spellcaster, with 2500 attack (so even if it were a Tribute isn't bad, although it won't ever likely be) but a defense equal to Summoned Skull at 1200.  Dark is obviously Chaos food, and he can Special Summon himself from the Graveyard if you remove three Spellbook Magic cards from your Graveyard.  I'd probably tech one in my Spellbook Deck, but no more.  You're not going to break a game open with him, but it's not going to hurt to use one I think.

Prophecy Destroyer has some possibilities. High Priestess is the boss monster of choice in a Prophecy deck as it has a higher attack and can get rid of your opponent’s threats, but in the right situation, Prophecy Destroyer can be the better option. If you have a lot of Spellbooks in your graveyard and you need a monster with staying power, searching for the Destroyer with Temperance of Prophecy instead of High Priestess could be the best option as the Priestess can only destroy once per turn. Running one Destroyer in your deck could be advantageous. It is ironic that the Prophecy monster that does not destroy is called destroyer though. Don’t you think?

Today's card is one of the best card artworks in the game, but is Prophecy Destroyer just as awesome as his card art? A level 6 DARK/Spellcaster-type with 2500 ATK and 1200 DEF.

If this card is in your graveyard: You can banish 3 Spellbook spell cards from your grave; Special Summon this card from your graveyard.

This card has pretty ok stats for a Level 6 DARK/Spellcaster. Its ATK can get over a lot, being a Spellcaster means all the goodies Destroyer gets just for being one, such as Magical Dimension and other tricks. Being DARK means one half of the Chaos equation so that's good there. His graveyard summoning conditions are not the best. Banishing 3 Spellbook cards from your grave without a real way to get them back *Until Spellbook of Alma is released*. He can get to the field a number of other ways, but I woulnd't use his GY one. Also, if you are looking for big Spellcaster monsters, High Priestess is usually the way to go here. If he had a better effect, then i would give Destroyer a better score. Other than that, he's just a very cool looking beatstick.
