Dark Paladin

Monday

Genex Ally Duradark, a Genex monster that might actually be playable outside the Genex Deck.  We have a Level 4, Dark attributed, Machine monster, with 1800 attack and 200 defense.  Now, for starters, Machine is good, Dark is great, 1800 attack on Level 4, is solid.

One a turn during your Main Phase, you can select an attack position monster your opponent controls and destroy it, as long as its attribute is the same as this card (Dark).  Very likely this card will only be able to pull this off once, before being destroyed.

As stated, it is a good fit with Machines, Genex, and fairly splashable in other Decks, maybe only even as Tech, in my opinion.  He can't attack during the turn you use his effect, but you're not sacrificing your whole Battle Phase, I don't think it's bad.

Genex Ally Duradark …

Duradark … Overall, I don’t think much of the Genex Allys, but Duradark is one of the exceptions. He’s simple enough and pretty good at what he does. 4 star machine with a solid  1800 ATK score. His DEF is virtually nothing, so we won’t even go there. But once per turn, he can pop an ATK position monster on ur opponent’s side if it has the same attribute as him. The good news is that his attribute is ‘Dark’, which is still the best and most popular attribute in the game, thus there’s a very good chance of u putting him to work, especially against the better Synchros. The bad news is … well, there really ISN’T any. Popping 1 monster means he himself cannot attack this turn, but he doesn’t restrict any of your other monsters from attacking, which is what allows him to be playable.

Fits in great with Darks and fits in great when fighting Darks … plus, he’s cool lookin’.

Welcome, Pojo-ers, to Weyard! As in, you're either playing the new Golden Sun: Dark Dawn game right now or you'll be Forever Alone.

And joining you in the isolation station will be Genex Ally Duradark. And only Genex Ally Duradark, because he kills all of his friends. Robo-Cop can use his turn's attack to blast away an attack-position DARK monster the opponent controls. Even thought he has a solid 1800 ATK score, he's only good against certain decks, such as Dark, Zombies, Blackwings and Gravekeepers. If you're going to be maining an anti-Dark card, it's going to be something that will do something for you in more than one matchup.

If you're siding anti-Dark cards, you're siding Shadow-Imprisoning Mirror and Consecrated Light.

2/5
Art: Totally wishes he could use Psynergy.
Fun Fact: You can now shut the computer off and go back to playing Golden Sun.
Tomorrow: You play more Golden Sun with a funny-looking guy with a funny name.

Ok Hey there COTD readers, here we have one of the New Genex Alley monsters. They are basically a sub-archtype of the genex monsters, all genex support applies to them. Duradark is an 1800 attack and 200 defense level 4 DARK machine. Which is promising. Machine and DARK are good, 1800 is great and 200 is dismal. His effect is interesting, once per turn you can destroy one face up Attack Postion DARK monster your opponent controls, but lose the ability to attack,

It's....ok. I mean its great against Gravekeepers and any other DARK deck, but useless against any other deck with different attributes. And the loss of attack hurts.

The Legion

Genex Ally Duradark is a level 4 Dark Machine monster with 1800 atk, and a measly 200 def. This immediately puts it into the rankings as salvo fodder.
But its effect is what truly makes this guy effective. Once per turn, you can destroy one face up attack position monster with the same Attribute as him, but he cannot attack the turn he activates that ability.

Here's the run down. This guy is instant dark hate. Summon and blow up a dark your opponent has, whether it's that big blackwing or a gravekeeper that hopefully isn't recruiter. He's also a great beat stick at 1800 atk.
But he doesn't stop being good there.  Use DNA Transplant and you can now hit everything on your opponent's field.  And Genex Ally (which reminds me of Ally of justice) have their own monster which changes the attribute of any genex ally monster you control.  All in all, this is a pretty decent card. And I could see decks based around this guy alone pop up. I definitely would see this as side board material with gravekeepers making a rise in the meta.

Pheano

Hey Pojo, Pheano here with another Card Of The Day For you.

Sorry about my two week hiatus but I was really busy with getting ready for Thanksgiving and some other things that I don’t need to talk about with you guys, but I’m back! We got a really great week for card reviews coming up with some really cool tech cards from the latest pack that I have been waiting to review. Today we will be taking a look at one of the OCG imports that is a Secret Rare in Starstrike Blast, Genex Ally Duradark. Genex Ally Duradark is a Level four Dark Machine Monster with eighteen hundred Attack and two hundred Defense. In a nutshell its effect is that once per turn you can destroy a monster with the same Attribute as it, so a Dark Monsters unless your using some combo with it to change its Attribute.

Ok I’ll be honest here when I first saw this card in the spoiler for Starstrike Blast and I saw Genex I stopped reading. But then I saw Ryan Spicer talking about it so I did some research into the card and found out how good this card truly was. This card has great side deck potential against the best Attribute in the game, Dark. Dark has always received and disproportional amount of support compared to the other Attributes. And this is another card like Consecrated Light, which is meant to fix that problem by being able to specifically take down that Attribute. In the past people have used Blackwing – Sirocco The Dawn as a side deck card against Blackwings since you can use it to gain the Attack of your opponent’s Blackwings also so you can use it to run over their Monsters. What this has over Blackwing – Sirocco The Dawn is that they can’t stop you with chainable cards like a Book Of Moon. So if I activate this with priority and they use Bottomless Trap Hole on it, it will still destroy the Monster where as if you put Blackwing – Sirocco The Dawn in that situation then it will be stopped and they will be able to gain board control on you.

There are three decks that I would really like to see this in the side deck of. First of all is the more obvious deck, Genex. More specifically Formula Genex Synchro, its kind of like Formula Frog Monarchs but with Genex monsters instead of Frogs. You can easily search this card out with Genex Neutron, which will help you deal with one of the decks harder match ups, Blackwings. Blackwings are a hard match up for the deck since it doesn’t play much back rows giving the Treeborn Frog. The Next deck that this is pretty good in would be a Black Salvo based deck. Since this is a Level four Machine you can use this with Black Salvo and its Dark Attribute will further help the engine of the deck by fueling Chaos Sorcerer, Dark Armed Dragon and Allure Of Darkness. The last deck that I would really like to see this in would be Flamvell. No you may think that this would be an odd choice but if you side deck in one of these you can easily search this out with Flamvell Poun. Outside of these three decks this card can just generally be side decked in anything just as an out to Blackwings.

In the Traditional Format this card is ok if you are up against a non FTK deck like a Chaos deck, other than that this card doesn’t do much in the Traditional Format since as I have said time and time again the Traditional Format is more about FTK’s. Also since your playing in the Traditional Format you can use Tribe Infecting Virus which is infinitely better than this.

Bottom line:
Really good side deck card for Blackwings.
