Jester Lord, an interesting card to the start of an interesting set of monsters, but let's start here...even the 5d's cartoon didn't make this card (or tomorrow's card) look very good. Jester Lord, in short, is ridiculous. 1000 attack per Magic and Trap card in either Field is good (that could be 12000 points) which would also be ridiculous.
WAIT...it only works while this is the only monster on the Field, something the cartoon forgot.

General Zorpa Jester Lord

This is one hot tamale. He's got 0 ATK and 0 DEF on a level 1 DARK Spellcaster. These are just about the worst stats that any card could have. It cannot really do anything outside of its effect. You can use all of the DARK support with it and you can use One For One, which is sort of a plus.

The effect is that if it is the only monster on the field it gains 1000 ATK for every spell and trap card on the field. Note that it says the ONLY monster on the entire field, so if your opponent has a monster you're screwed. You can paur this up with some savage one for one removal cards and protection to get some pretty massive direct attacks, but the risk to reward ratio just isn't there. If One For One was not limited, it might have been worth it to make a fun deck around it, but at this point, there is nothing that you can really use him for.

He is a fun little guy, and can do some crazy things with continuous Spell and Trap cards and he will work with things that support level 1 monsters. He is also a Spellcaster, so some of that crazy junk could work well. All in all he just begs to be used for fun, so I would oblige him, before he gets angry.

Jester Lord ...

I dont get it ... I mean, i GET it, but I don't get it. Jester Lord, I think is one of those cards ... kinda like Skull Servant and King of Skull Servant ... Ya know the kind I mean - the ones where it becomes very easy to imagine the scenario where the right combo of cards including them would totally kick ass ... And if life were like the cartoon - u could totally pull it off and get plenty of "Wow!!" points from onlookers who'd be impressed that u crafted such an original deck ....
But the problem with cards like that are simply that we live in the real world. Jester Lord's DREAM scenario is that ur opponent has no monsters, but several set spells and traps. U have about 4 places filled with a Jester Lord in hand, and u draw Cold Wave. U activate it with that 1 free Spell/Trap zone u have and ur opponent has nothing chainable, so is wide open to receive a 6000-7000 (or more) punch in the face (direct attack) from JL. Sweet, right?
But when was the last time u ever dueled and something like that even came CLOSE to happening?? ... Sure - u can start structuring your deck to try to create such scenarios .... but seriously? - It'll be a waste of time. A HUGE waste of time.

Ok so today we look at one of Lazars monsters, least if memory serves. Anyways Jester Lord is a tricky card to use since he has to be the only monster on the field for it to gain any attack points. Its a level 1 monster so its easy to summon with One for One, and since it has no attack points you can use Magician's Circle to summon it since its also a Spellcaster. In this format, more than likely there will always be another monster on the field.
