Friday:
Recurring Nightmare

It's a theme-specific 2 for 1.

*does a search in RONIN for monsters that fit the requirement...that don't suck*

The even semi-decent ones: Great Maju Garzett, Giant Orc (for DDV maybe?), Mist Archfiend, and The End of Anubis. There are others, but I don't see anyone making decks around the others.

If you run anything revolving around these types of monsters, then yes, go ahead and play this. Otherwise, it's a very limited card in what decks it will give a +1 to. Meh, it's a FOTB SCR, at least it's tradable.

1.75/5

Recurring Nightmare
Normal Magic

Select two Dark monster with 0 Defense in your Graveyard and return them to your Hand.

I don't really like this card. It is specific support, sort of, for weak monsters of a specific type. An interesting concept, but I don't really see the point. Sorry to be short, but come on people.

Ratings:

1/5 all, and I do believe that is justified.

You stay classy, Planet Earth :)

RECURRING NIGHTMARE

Dark Factory of mass production is superior in my opinion. But this card can nab giant orc and Infernal Dragon. The real question is basically to wonder how many monsters are played that fit the criteria. In your average deck NONE. Thus I'll leave you to decide if it is worth running. It is not a bad card but what it does has yet to be really needed.
Turkeyspit Recurring Nightmare

Yet another Secret Rare from FOTB, it's plainly obvious that this card is designed to be used exclusively in a Virus Control deck.

Essentially a version of Salvage or Dark Factory of Mass Production, Nightmare is intended to help even out the cost you paid to activate Deck Devastation Virus or Crush Card Virus.

To date, there are a limited number of DarK monsters that have 0 DEF that are seen competitively. A small list of them are:

The End of Anubis (6/2500/0)
Goblin King (1/0/0)
Inferno Hammer (6/2400/0)
Relinquished (1/0/0)
Berserk Dragon (8/3500/0)
Great Maju Garzett (6/0/0)
Infernal Dragon (4/2000/0)
Giant Orc (4/2200/0)
King of the Skull Servants (1/?/0)
Mist Archfiend (5/2400/0)

and of that list, only Giant Orc and Infernal Dragon are seen with any regularity.

-------------------------------------

Traditional:
1/5 - I want to keep my DARK monsters in the Graveyard

Advanced:
2/5 - To be used only in a Virus Control deck, but I'd rather keep my monsters in the GY from Pot of Avarice, Dark Necrofear, or Sky Scourge Norleras / Enrise.

Card Art:
2/5 - "There's an entirely different universe beyond that black hole. A point where time and space as we know it no longer exists. We will be the first to see it, to explore it, to experience it!"

Ahhhh….Friday at last. By the time you all read this, I’ll be at the LCQ’s in Columbus, Ohio! Oh yea!!! Let’s just hope my many attempts to qualify doesn’t turn into today’s card name….

Recurring Nightmare
Spell Card
Select 2 DARK type monsters with 0 defense in your graveyard and return them to your hand.

Very simple effect. It’s a +1, reuse some of your decks good mosnters. Bad opening draw. I only see one major issue….how many dark monsters in the game, that are any good, have 0 defense? End of Anubis? I can’t think of anymore off the top of my head.

So, simply put, if your deck plays a lot of dark 0 defense monsters, you could probably make use of one or two of these, otherwise no.

Sorry for the short review…not much to say.

Recurring Nightmare
Normal Spell
Select 2 DARK monsters with 0 DEF in your graveyard and return them to your hand.

Well this card can be a pretty good card in the right deck. The deck i'm talking about is a deck with Eradicator Epidemic Virus and Deck Devastation Virus. This card can give more control to those decks. How you may ask? Well it's monsters like Giant Orc, End of Anubis and Mist Archfiend that can make this deck work really nicely. Recurring Nightmare can give you those monsters back and many of the other 0 DEF DARK monsters back like Infernal Dragon and even the weaker Armored Zombie and Dragon Zombie. Also with a deck with Snipe Hunter and you keep discarding the 0 DEF monsters, not only can you get them back with this but that gives more advantage to you, to either discard or summon. This card can only really see play in one deck, but if that deck goes off then its going to be a bad time for your opponent. Too bad there aren't more 0 DEF monsters that can make a big difference in Yu-Gi-Oh! Props to Kyle P. for the list of DARK monsters with 0 DEF, that made this COTD better for all you viewers.

Traditional: 1.5/5 I don't really like it in this deck, but then again, you can use the 0 DEF monsters there.
Advanced: 3/5 In that deck, wow this card make it work a lot better. Hopefully there will be more monsters with 0 DEF to come
