Dark Paladin
Friday

Closing the week, we look at Cloudian-Sheep Cloud, who has 0 attack and 0 defense. Remarkable, isn't it? This is actually one of those cards that might fit in other decks outside of Cloudian even more than it does in its own Deck, but more on that in a moment.

When destroyed, our Sheep friend here Special Summons two Cloudian Tokens (who also have 0 attack and 0 defense) in attack mode. That is a good thing, as the Cloudian deck revolves around Tokens and Fog Counters. However, they can't be used to tribute for a Cloudian Monster.

However, that's two free tokens you can tribute for anything else. If you're playing a tribute heavy deck, or just want another tribute fodder option, aside from things like Treeborn Frog or Neo Spacian Grand Mole, then try this out.

Ratings:

Traditional: 2.25/5 For reasons listed above.

Advanced; 3.25/5 Also for reasons listed above, and potential, I
really believe this is one of those cards just waiting to be unlocked.

General Zorpa Cloudian Sheep Cloud

This is the cloud card that is supposed to be used with Eye of the Typhoon, but since eye of the typhoon is so bad, this is not likely to see play. Two extra tokens are a very nice kickback, but the 0/0 stats of this guy make me flinch. Cloudians already have enough trouble with ATK points that they really don't need another to add to the mix. It could work well with Nimbusman and Enemy Controller. The reason that it might see play is in the wording of the card. The tokens can only be tributed for a Tribute Summon if it is a Cloudian. However, it makes no reference to Special Summons. Plasma, this could be one of your new best friends besides scapegoat. You can also use the Wicked God promo cards from the Shonen Jump Magazine, as they have the same summoning requirements as Plasma.

Carrotizer Cloudian - Sheep Cloud
Fairy/Water/Effect 0 ATK/0 DEF
When this card is destroyed by battle and sent to the Graveyard, Special Summon 2 "Cloudian Tokens" (Fairy-Type/Water/Level 1/0 ATK/0DEF) in Defense Position. These tokens cannot be Tributed for a Tribute Summon, except for a "Cloudian" monster.

2nd Cloudian monster that resembles Thousand-Eyes Restrict in stats and Destiny Hero - Double Dude in effect.

Stats obviously are mediocre at best, so you are obviously not going to use this in a beatdown deck. As today's metagame dictates (and as it did...couple years ago), effect has priority over stats unless you are using Demise OTK (and it seems as if Swing of Memories is a staple in the deck now).

This effect has two limitations: destruction by battle and Graveyard. The restriction is the same for Mystic Tomato, Giant Rat, and any other battle searchers that you may be running. While you are safe from D.D. Crow, Banisher of Radiance, Dimensional Fissure, and Macro Cosmos threaten this Cloudian monster.

Then once the effect is activated and resolved, you have 2 tokens that are similar to Goat Tokens except for Cloudian monsters. Of course, you can always use the tokens for Creature Swap, Enemy Controller, or Tributes for Special Summon, such as Destiny Hero - Plasma.

This card should only be used in Cloudian deck because Stray Lamb, half-a-Scapegoat, would do a better job. You cannot search Stray Lamb from your deck as effectively as Mother Grizzly or Sangan can search the Sheep Cloud. By the way, “Sheep” Cloud. Stray Lamb. Scapegoat. Similar effects. Thought it was worth noticing.

Theoretically, this card grants you a +1 card advantage. However, what good is having 3 Ojama monsters in your hand from Ojamagic when you cannot use it? Consequently, you can neither Tribute the tokens nor attack with them (you could, but you would not want to) unless you are Tributing for yesterday’s card, Eye of the Typhoon. It then is -1 that way.

It is a bit difficult to use this card as a tech because while it requires a fair amount of support, too many cards committed to this single card will degenerate your deck. I am not a big fan of Cloudian monsters.

Traditional: 1.1/5 Not a good idea.
Advanced: 2/5 Even the requirement is too harsh for a card with a themed effect.
Art: 4/5 Simple. And “cute” according to my friend.
