Ahh, the semi-Command Knight of the Spellcaster
This card is okay, but not great. You have a
non-searchable Spellcaster that can protect
another Spellcaster. It's typically good to
just destroy your opponent's cards as opposed to
protect your monsters temporarily, but you could
always set up the double-Valkyria lock.
It CAN be revived with Magician's Circle or
thrown out with Magical Dimension, but there are
better uses for those cards.
I just don't see it being powerful enough to run
any strategies around, and the loss of Sorcerer
and Tsuku did hamper it a bit.
Finally a decent somewhat workable card to use (
thats not now banned =/ etc EoTS ) from the popular
Shonen Jump magazine which usually I get to
read the Naruto manga :D. Now I have been
waiting this card to released ever since I began to
play YGO a few years ago with my first deck being
Dark Magician so prepare for a long review since
I have a lot of history with mages. Now much like
theme based support there is no need to really
mention that Valkyria is strickly a
Spellcaster based deck only. Now being Light
doesn't really mine much anymore but with decent
1600/1800 stats she can hold her own in DeF giving
your other mages protection like Skill Dark
Magician before it can add 3 counters. Also like
Maruading Captain get two on the field ( Or
bigger mage like Dark Magician of Chaos ) you
have yourself a lock from all attacks. Now like I
just mentioned getting two or three on the field is
pretty much the main goal to build up resources to
pull off a win which is hard for these kind of decks
against mainstream style decks but a really good way
to achieve this is through Magician's Circle.
Now have Magician's Circle set up then attack
with Valkyria then pull out another or better
yet Injection Fairy Lily since your opponent
can't attack with searchers against Injection
Fairy Lily to make you pay the cost and still
have a monster on the field ( trust me I know this
comes from experience ). Now if you run Spellcaster
I highly suggest maining triple of her with a few
copies of Magician's Circle to swarm and
maintain field pressure for your opponent.
I like having her in my trade binder to remind me of
my humble beginnings I may take her out of my binder
and rebuild my old deck again but enough about me
back to business if you run Spellcaster you would be
crazy not to run her in triples with Magician's
Traditional Format > 1.5/5:
Like Maruading Captain its hard to pull of
the lock effect here since there is soo much mass
removal best to leave her in the trade binder if you
play in traditional tournaments.

How many Spellcaster players have been waiting for
this card? I know I have. It adds a new dimension to
the Spellcaster deck theme. Its effect is basically
like a Marauding Captain except without the instant
two-card commitment to the field. If there are
certain Spellcaster you want to keep protected from
battle, just plop on her on the field and she can
take the hit.
She boasts stats of 1600/1800; that’s decent. Rush
Recklessly and Blast with Chain can make her big
enough to compete with Cyber Dragon. She’s a good
card. Before I forget, try her with Magical
Dimension and Magician’s Circle; fun stuff.
Final Word: Nice stats, good effect, great with
Magical Dimension, and excellent with Magician’s
want to see what kind of Spellcaster decks you guys
can come up with. I have a Gravekeeper deck list
prepared as my Spellcaster deck. However, I’m sure
you guys can come up with something good.

I don’t care if those decks are ‘cookie-cutter’ or
not. I DO fix or comment on decks, but please be
patient as I get quite a few e-mails daily. I have a
2 week maximum waiting time for a reply to an email.
This gives me time to completely focus on your

responding to e-mails in the order they come. The
sooner you e-mail me, the sooner I can get to your
