Spear Dragon
Wind/4/1900/0
[Dragon/Effect]
Effect: If this card attacks with an ATK that is
higher than the DEF of your opponent's Defense
Position monster, inflict the difference as Battle
Damage to your opponent's Life Points. When this card
attacks, it is changed to Defense Position at the end
of the Damage Step.
When Spear Dragon first came out, a lot of people
figured this would become a staple in beat down. It
was a wonder then. You get a GAF like 1900 Monster
that untaps during your next turn, and this became
something you saw often.
As the metagame developed, Waboku became increasingly
popular, even more so than before, and is simply the
reason this card isn't the most economic card to run.
Usually when it attacks once, it isn't going to do it
again, but you also can use Waboku to YOUR advantage
and use it when your opponent attacks you allowing the
dragon to attack again next turn. The whole Waboku
Spear Dragon situation is an Early Position
type of play. Gemini Elf is more consistent and a
better choice over Spear Dragon though.
However, this thing is a beast in a dragon theme. It
is the best Monster in that kind of deck. Use it and
love it.
Not a bad card, but didn't deserve as much play as it
got.

Pros:
TRAMPLE! is always an awesome Effect
Lv.4 1900 ATK
Searchable by WOTBF
Cons:
0-DEF
Changes to DEF for opponent to trample over
Combos:
Royal Command - Helps to run down Monsters without
Flip-Effects getting in the way.
Skill Drain -It's not out here yet, but it's a Trap
that makes Effect
Monsters effect-less meaning GAF and Spear Dragon
loose their side-effects, yeah and Spears trample
effect but it can still help.
Notes:
This is a very mean Monster but with it's side-effect
he can be hard to keep on the Field. His trample
Effect alone makes him a very sought after card by
many duelists and his side-effect is easier to deal
with than Goblin Attack Forces since he can be turned
back to ATK position you next turn where as GAF takes
two turns leaving him open to be attacked. He does
work insanely well against opposing Spear Dragons and
GAFs when their in DEF and is often called The
ScapeGoat Killer since he'll do a direct 1900 damage
against them if the attack isn't countered.
With some heavy equips like UWS and Mage Power his
trample effect becomes a nightmare for the opponent
while acquiring some DEF too, but when Spear Dragon is
the only thing you have out on the Field after
attacking with him the opponent can take him out with
ANY Monster, well except maybe Otohime, Ceremonial
Bell, Kotodama, Spirit Of The Breeze and Cocoon Of
Evolution... but yeah, you're not going to see those
cards much.

Super Rare
Well, I don't see Spear Dragon as being overrated, but
ok. Spear Dragon, with 1900 ATK and its Trample
ability, has the potential to be a pretty devastating
Monster. It could work well with Book of Moon, using
Book of Moon on an opponent's face up Monster that has
a lower DEF strength, then having your Spear Dragon
Trample it for some pretty heavy damage. Plus, any
Monster that your opponent may set face down usually
won't have more than 1300-1500 DEF, so Spear Dragon
will at least be doing some damage. It's always nice
to be able to do some damage to your opponent even
when their Monsters are in DEF position.
Spear Dragon's good when your opponent has a face down
Fiber of Cyber Jar as well, for example. It's always
better to do some damage (1400 or 1000, in Fiber/Cyber's
case) before the Jar's Effect goes through, rather
than do nothing before the Jar's Effect goes off.
Trample Monsters, like Spear Dragon, are always fun to
play, and they're usually quite effective. Spear
Dragon going to DEF mode only until your next turn
isn't too much of a drawback, unless your opponent has
a Trampler of their own to go after your Spear Dragon.
Although having 0 DEF will make the Spear Dragon an
easy target for any Monster to get rid of, it's really
not that bad of a drawback at all.
