Ratings are based on a 1 to 5 scale. 1 is bad. 3 is average. 5 is great.
This is a midtrol (mid/control) card. It has some aggressive potential with it’s high offense stat and the overwhelm. He gives you board presence, but not all at once. The level up on death will help you next turn, but it doesn’t really affect you on turn you play it.
The first time he dies, he replaces himself, making the opponent invest 2-3 cards to deal with 1 card. But after that, the next time you summon him, you just get the 1 body. In a sense, you get less out of him than the first time you summon him, which might make me want to min-max and just 1 of him
Synergies: Harrowing, Warmother’s Call, Rekindler.
Battle Fury (companion card): It’s an expensive spell, but has Burst speed and “grant” means the stat boost doesnt expire at the end of the turn. At worst, it’s an overpriced combat spell. At best, it could be a win condition.
Overall Rating: 3/5
There’s not a lot of great 8-cost cards in Runeterra yet. And there’s very few high level champions, so Tryndamere has that niche.
We would love more volunteers to help us with our Runeterra Card the Day reviews. If you want to share your ideas on cards with other fans, feel free to drop us an email. We’d be happy to link back to your blog / YouTube Channel / etc. 😉
