During the Main or Battle Phase: You can banish this card from your GY; add 1 “Obelisk the Tormentor” from your Deck or GY to your hand, then immediately after this effect resolves, you can Normal Summon 1 “Obelisk the Tormentor”. Now for a piece of Obelisk support imported from the OCG and is more of a throwback to the anime, we have Soul Energy MAX!!!

Soul Energy is a Normal Trap where if you control an Obelisk the Tormentor whose original Attribute is DIVINE in your Monster, so basically the actual Obelisk himself, you can tribute 2 other face-up monsters to destroy as many monsters the opponent controls as possible and deal 4000 damage to the opponent. It’s literally Obelisk’s anime effect except from when it did infinite damage cause I don’t think they want you to guarantee a way to finish the game off of a single card activation. It’s pretty good to be able to use on your turn at least since you can attack with the Obelisk for game or to use on the opponent’s turn to disrupt, just the big cost is tributing 2 monsters, especially since one of them can’t be Obelisk himself. You can also banish this card during your Main or Battle Phase to add an Obelisk the Tormentor from your Deck or graveyard to your hand and then you can immediately Normal Summon that Obelisk, which nearly guarantees you get the Obelisk on board if you have the 3 monsters to sacrifice. Hard once per turn on each effect, which is fine. It’s a better card than yesterday for having more of a capability to finish the game with Obelisk as well as getting to him and summoning him. It could still be better, but this might still be the best of the Obelisk support cards.

Advanced Rating: 3/5

Art: 5/5 This is a reference to when Yugi tributed Marik’s Egyptian God Slime (which all Fusions counted as the number of materials it had in the anime, in this case Revival Jam and Metal Reflect Slime) to use Obelisk’s effect to destroy The Winged Dragon of Ra. The name matches the name of one of Obelisk’s anime effects that this card replicates and the graveyard effect is a reference to Kaiba pulling Obelisk the Tormentor from the ground in his Duel with Aigami in the Dark Side of Dimensions movie and summoned it with Counter Gate.
