Recette de Poisson (Fish Recipe) – #WISU-EN037

This card can be used to Ritual Summon any “Nouvelles” Ritual Monster. You must also Tribute monsters from your hand or field whose total Levels equal or exceed the Level of the Ritual Monster you Ritual Summon. Then, if you Ritual Summoned “Buerillabaisse de Nouvelles”, you can apply the following effect.
● Add 1 “Recipe” Ritual Spell from your Deck or GY to your hand, except “Recette de Poisson (Fish Recipe)”.

Hello Pojo Fans,

Recette de Poisson (Fish Recipe) is one of the two Ritual Spells in the archetype, and the one mentioned yesterday alongside Buerillabaisse.

Not sure I want the word “Poisson” involved in any kind of “recipe”, but I digress. Recette de Poisson Ritual Summons an Nouvelles Ritual Monster. You can exceed the required Levels, which everyone wants to do because arranging exact levels makes things situational. If you Ritual Summon Buerillabaisse in particular, you get to search another “Recipe” Ritual Spell from the Deck or Graveyard and add it to your hand. Buerillabaisse is one of your better Ritual Monsters, so syncing him up with this card would be your best bet. You can’t get another Fish Recipe, which would have been great, leaving you with searching Meat Recipe or adding it back from the grave. Meat Recipe wants you to Ritual Summon Confiras de Nouvelles (your Level 2 Ritual Monster) with it so you can change all Defense Position monsters to Attack Position. Not as useful with Link Monsters not having DEF and rarely do you see a deck wall up with big DEF monsters playing defense. Something flip-based like Crawler or Subterror you might see do that.

This is the better of the two Ritual Spell cards, as long as you summon Buerillabaisse de Nouvelles with it. If you don’t, it’s okay, but you won’t get a card for your trouble. Use this one first and summon Buerillabisse first to get its effect going.

We got to see one of the Recipe cards this week, so let’s look at the one that goes with the Ritual from yesterday: Recette de Poisson (Fish Recipe).

Fish Recipe is a Ritual Spell that lets you Ritual Summon any Nouvelles monster by tributing monsters from your hand or field whose total Levels equal or exceed that of your Ritual Monster, which is standard stuff. With that said, if you Ritual Summon a Buerillabaisse de Nouvelles with this card, you can add a Recipe Ritual Spell from your Deck or graveyard to your hand that isn’t another Fish Recipe, so helping you serve up more Rituals to the opponent potentially by getting you another Spell. It’s the standard Ritual Spell at the start, but the bonus effect for Buerillabaisse is nice, especially since mentioning the card does open up Pre-Preparation of Rites as an option for the Deck. No hard once per turn is good, helping you get as many Rituals out as you need or want. Fish Recipe is probably the better of the 2 Recipe Ritual Spells we got since it does help get you to the other Ritual Spell. I’d say 2 of this is fine as well.

Recette de Poisson (Fish Recipe) is the Ritual Spell we’ll be covering for Nouvelles, arguably the superior one over Recette de Viande (Meat Recipe) thanks to its bonus effect. Naturally, it’s a Ritual Spell and it can be searched by whole spaghetti pile of cards, including Pre-Preparation of Rites since it mentions Buerillabaisse de Nouvelles. As typical of a Ritual Spell, you can Ritual Summon a Nouvelles monster by tributing monsters from your hand or field so they equal or exceed the level of the Ritual monster. As a bonus, if you happened to summon Buerillabaisse, you can search another Recipe Ritual Spell except itself (which limits you to Meat Recipe). Considering Meat Recipe only has a position change as its bonus effect, Fish Recipe is much better as it allows for Ritual climbing combos, and it’ll be even more helpful when Nouvelles get their new support in Age of Overlord, as a level 1 monster is exactly what they needed to summon Buerillabaisse. Not much else to say, it’ll be your main Ritual Spell in this archetype, and while it’s not likely that you will use it multiple times, Fish Recipe is thankfully not once per turn.
