Ratings are based on a 1 to 5 scale. 1 is awful. 3 is average. 5 is excellent.
An archetype getting a new Fusion sometimes means it gets their own Fusion Spell, and Rokkets get a Fusion Spell that works well with them, Rapid Trigger.
Rapid Trigger is a Quick-Play Spell that Fusion Summons any Fusion from your Extra Deck by destroying the Fusion Materials listed on it on your side of the field, but it can only attack monsters Special Summoned from the Extra Deck and it is unaffected by other monster effects of monsters Special Summoned from the Extra Deck. Well the fact that this destroys the Fusion Materials begs for some sort of abuse in other Fusion archetypes, but I don’t think there are many Fusion archetypes that mind destroying their monsters that much except Rokkets, which is what this was meant for. Destroying the materials gets you the Rokket effects while summoning your Fusion like Borreload Furious Dragon. The thing is that this is generic and can be used in any deck, and one day destroying the materials could be abusable, so we got the fair restrictions on it with it not being able to attack monsters unless it’s a monster Special Summoned from the Extra Deck, but the protection makes up for that. The biggest balance might be that this card doesn’t have the word “Fusion” in its name, meaning it isn’t searchable. That’s pretty fair and a hard once per turn is fair as well. Rapid Trigger could find its home in other decks, but for now it has a good home already in Rokkets.
Advanced Rating: 4.25/5
Art: 3.5/5 It’s a swirl, only with Rokkets.
Rapid Trigger is a Quickplay Magic card that’s a new Fusion Magic card for the Archetype. This takes a fairly different twist on the Fusion mechanic, the Monsters come from your Field and it can only attack Special Summoned Monsters from the Extra Deck. That’s a bit limiting, if you bring out something strong, it can only wail on said Monsters, but could still be a wall and use its effect(s).
It is, however, also protected from ANY other Monster effects from Monsters Special Summoned from the Extra Deck. I’d like this better if it were just your opponent’s Monster effects, but whatever, protection is still good. I love this is a Quickplay, being able to perform any Fusion on your opponent’s turn can really shake things up and catch them by surprise. You can only activate one of these a turn.
I also feel since this isn’t theme specific, you could use this in other Decks. Again, the Quickplay aspect makes it a lot of fun. It’s not as open ended as Super Polymerization, for instance, but it’s still a good and fun card to be used.
Art: 3.75/5 Look, swirls on a Fusion card. The couple swirls are neatly colored though.
