One in the long line of Simic “ramp” cards, Growth Spiral is a powerful ramp card cantrip that helps get you rolling and keep rolling…at instant speed, too, which means you can represent an answer on an enemy’s turn and drop Growth Spiral if they have nothing you need to stop. That you draw before playing the land from your hand gives a chance to hit if you’re running low on fumes…and, of course, it pairs well with Mirrodin‘s Isochron Scepter. Tempo cantrips like Opt and Serum Visions are an integral part of every format, and while this costs 2 mana, it’s a powerful added effect that any Simic-adjacent deck has reason to consider.
