Don’t want to do a 20th Anniversary celebration of the game and just look at the DM era, so let’s give GX some love and look at Elemental HERO Flame Wingman.
Flame Wingman is a Level 6 WIND Warrior Fusion with 2100 ATK and 1200 DEF. Meh stats, Attribute is lackluster, but being a Warrior is always a plus. Fusion Materials for this are Elemental HERO Avian and Elemental HERO Burstinatrix, two cards in dire need of a retrain. This must be Fusion Summoned and cannot be summoned by other ways, otherwise this could of been a good Metamorphosis target back in the day. Lone effect triggers upon destroying a monster in battle, burning the opponent for the ATK the destroyed monster in the graveyard. I mean, the effect is somewhat decent actually considering burn is always helpful to try and end a game, especially when your opponent is playing defensive. Use this to run over something smaller, whether in ATK or DEF, and deal that free burn. This might still see some play if it wasn’t for the fact that there’s no real upside to counter the massive downside of using two vanillas like Avian and Burstinatirx. If we get something to make this worth summoning again, it can be decent, otherwise it’s lackluster.

Art: 5/5 I mean, Flame Wingman’s artwork is just magnificent. The best of Jaden’s Fusions in terms of art.

The weekend starts off this go with Elemental Hero Flame Wingman. Jaden’s ‘ace’ Monster of the GX era. While nowhere near as broken as the cartoon may have made it seem, the ability to inflict Damage to your opponent equal to each Monster it destroys IS a great thing. There’s a billion ways to bring out a Fusion, and even more if you’re playing Heroes, even if this is a Fusion of 2 vanilla Heroes. The 2100 attack is a bit low for a Level 6, but it helps balance such a powerful Effect, so I’m okay with it. Heroes, and this card, also as most should know, have an almost laughable amount of support. If you’re going pure Jaden, you should use this, but in the Hero pool available today, I don’t see much use for this guy.

Art: 4/5 He does look rather formidable, doesn’t he?
