Dark Paladin

Junk Destroyer isn't as bad a card as it seems, but it's still not very good, as hypocritical as that statement may be. We have a Level 8 Synchro Monster, Earth type, with 2600 attack and 2500 defense, which is a problem to start. Junk Destroyer is Synchro Summoned with Junk Synchron, and one or more non-Tuner monsters.

Now, the biggest problem, after that, is being you want to use a lot of monsters here to Synchro Summon, but if you normal summoned Junk Synchron and use his effect, you're all ready up to 5 stars (likely)...leaving only 3, and that likely means one other monster...

When Junk Destroyer is Synchro Summoned, you can select and destroy cards on the Field up to the number of non-Tuner monsters used as Synchro material for this card. SO...it could be five cards I suppose, if you do Junk Synchro plus five other non-Tuner monsters, but why would you do that?

Hell, why would you play Junk Destroyer at all? Just for the cool picture? I think not. You're likely getting one card from the effect, and that's not worth a 2600 attack Level 8 Synchro.

Ratings:

Traditional: 1/5
Advanced: 1.5/5 It does something, just not very well.

Junk Destroyer ...

This card works. It plays well with the Synchrons which have several tricks up their sleeves, notably - the use and abuse of that Dandylion that creates 1 star tokens like nobodies business ... and they become sychro fuel to create the Destroyer, which then loves to blow things up off the field. It's only real fear is that Starlight Road, but u can't let things like that keep u from doing what u have to do. When done well, u clear the field of threats and Junk Destroyer is left to swing direct with his 2600 ATK fists ... not bad!

U play Synchrons, i'd say Junk D is a definite.

Today's card is Junk Destroyaaaa, and it's flippin awesome. JD and JD both destroy everything, so that's fun. There are so many ways to make this card: Quickdraw + Sangan (destroy a card, fetch a card!), QD + Synchron Explorer + Treeborn Frog/Fluff Token, etc... Even if you aren't playing Quickdraw, if you have Junk Synchron, you can chain together Dandylions, Junk Warrior, tokens, etc...

This is all-around a terrific boss monster for Junk & Debris and Quickdraw varients. There's no other Synchro with instant destruction, and whenever you make Junk Destroyaaaa, he pays for himself. Making this with free cards like Sangan and Level 1 spammers like Treeborn Frog and Fluff tokens means you're gaining huge advantage while crushing your opponents' best cards, then going in for an attack.

You might run into Starlight Road while using this, but then again that's why its decks use a lot of Dust Tornadoes to pick those off. Furthermore, imagine what would happen if you drew Quickdraw Synchron, Dandylion and Synchron Explorer in the same hand... *shivers*

4.5/5
Art: Reminds me of Empoleon. Yay, Empoleon robot destroyaaaa!!!
Fun Fact: It's modeled after a Gundam robot, and there's a Junk Synchro for levels 5 through 8!
Tomorrow: A less amazing new Synchro.

Junk Destroyer

As an 8 star Synchro Monster, EARTH attribute, Warrior-type, with 2600 ATK and 2500 DEF, it could be considered a bit weak. Of course, its effect definitely makes up for it.

This card is getting a lot of hype right now, due to its inclusion in the popular Quickdraw decks that are doing so well.

These decks are able to skip the "Junk Synchron" requirement using Quickdraw Synchron, and also use cards like Dandylion, Super-Nimble Mega Hamster, Synchron Explorer, and Scapegoat, among others, to help Junk Destroyer become a live card.

Of course, Quickdraw decks aren't the only thing that can use Junk Destroyer. Junk & Debris decks can pull it off too, actually using Junk Synchron to summon him.

The only main drawbacks I see to this card are:
1. Starlight Road
2. The limited amount of space in the Extra Deck. Even if a deck could pull off Junk Destroyer, finding space for one is becoming increasingly challenging. Not impossible though, and I definitely recommend you give him a try if your deck is capable of summoning him.

Advanced: 4/5 Excellent card in a few decks, but not only in those decks.
Traditional: 1/5 You generally should only be synchro summoning Dark Strike Fighter or Brionac here.
Art: 4/5 Goro went to Japan and brought home a souvenir.
