I'm not a big fan of the Watt Archtype...as a whole, they can actually accomplish something, and pull of a few tricks, but individually, they are just cards. Watthopper is a mechanical grasshopper, with 0 attack and defense, Level 1, Thunder-type, and of the Light attribute.

Watthopper prevents your opponent from targeting other face-up "Watt" monsters with card effects, and from attacking them. That is reasonably nice protection, but also where the 0 attack and defense come into play. Don't waste too much time here folks.

Ratings:

1.5/5 both formats

Watthopper …

Electro-Cricket … or whatever. It does only 1 thing, but does it fairly well. No ATK, no DEF, and only level 1. But when it’s on the field, your opponent cannot select another Watt monster on the field as an attack target OR a target for effect. Sweet. This means (barring some type of jacked ruling) if u get 2 on the field, each Watthopper will then protect the other, so now ALL your Watt monsters are bulletproof. Supreme shutdown.

Usually I’d argue that if Watthopper were a Tuner, it’d be even a little better, but nope. Not with this one. U don’t want him to ever leave your side of the field so u don’t even need the tuning temptation.

I like him.

Today we have another watt card. Watthopper. He's not as good as the rest of them. LIGHT, Thunder 1 star 0 attack and defense. So whats his deal?

Well, your opponent can't target another Watt monster as an attack target or a card effect target. Which is ok, but not on a 0/0 monster. Though if you have two of them on the field your monsters are untargetable.

Unfortunately, Watts dont have a Junk Synchron, A Maruding Captain, or a Substitoad in order to summon 2 watthoppers consistently, so the lock takes a minimum of two turns to set up. two turns you cant afford since he's a 0/0 monster. Dupe frog he aint.

Both Formats- 2/5 (Watt Decks only)
Art- Not much to say, an electric Grasshopper.
