Kuribon

Dark Paladin
Monday

Well, we're looking at some of the new Ancient Prophecy cards this week, and I've chosen some of the more interesting cards, so I hope everyone enjoys them. Kuribon, a seemingly new addition to the Kuriboh family opens the week, a Level 1 monster, who is a Fairy with 300 atk and 200 def.

Now, if attacked, during Damage Calculation, you take no damage from a Battle involving Kuribon, which is always plus, but your opponent gains Lifepoints equal to the attack of the monster they used to attack Kuribon. Not the best effect in the world as you generally don't want your opponent's Lifepoints to go up.

Furthermore, Kuribon returns to your Hand after all this takes place, so it could be a decent recycling cycle, but it doesn't have the power Kuriboh or even Winged Kuriboh has, so as good as Luna may make this card look on the anime, I don't recommend using it.

Advanced: 2/5
Art: 3.5/5 Not even that cute.

Today’s card up up for review is Kuribon. I liked this cards effect, until I read the opponent gains life part. I myself care about my opponents life points, but if you don’t care about the gain, then Kuribon is pretty cool haha. The effect is one of a kind, and I see a few combos right off the bat. You can either grab Kuribon off of Shining Angel, or use a card like Ultimate Offering to keep dropping this. I apologize if there is some combo that I am not aware of, but I suggest you don’t try this card out. Life points means a lot in this game, so dishing out free life isn’t cool

Kuribon ...

Meh. This little thing is pretty pointless. It doesn't do "nothing" ... and i suppose it can serve your purposes if u are dedicated to staying within the realm of light or fairies ... or an all Kuriboh deck of some kind ... But if that isn't the case, I can't see any reason to use this instead of the "Superior-in-virtually-ever-way-that-matters" Neo-Spacian Grand Mole. They both will protect u from damage from that one attack. And they both then return to your hand to do it again next turn. Except the Grand Mole will bounce your opponent's monster to their hand as well (excellent), AND your opponent gains no life points for their effort.

Uhm .... yeah.
Go with Grand Mole.
Plus this thing is about as sissy-looking as a yu-gi-oh card can ever get .... hopefully!

Kuribohs sister/girlfriend starts off this weeks Card of the Day, thats right, its Kuribon, Luna's little monster that could. Kurbon has the same stats as Kuriboh with a Light attribute. When its selected as an attack target it can bounce itself back to the hand to prevent any battle damage from that battle and your opponent gains life points equal to that monsters ATK. With cards like Nurse Reficule and Bad Reaction to Simochi, this can inflict some seriously heavy damage. Comboing it with Ultimate Offering would make the opponent never attack so long as Kuribon was all you had and if you had Bad Reaction out. Theres multiple ways to use Kuribon but its really only any good in a Heal/Burn deck.

Monday- Kuribon

This is a very bad card. While Kuribon would be decent in a stall deck based around some weird win condition (such as Final Countdown), the simple problem is you get one normal summon per turn. This makes a card like Kuribon impossible to use repeatedly when your opponent decides to swarm the field. Throw in the fact it loses advantage to every Monarch, Celestia, JD, DaD, and others and it's just an unplayable card in almost any deck.

Kuribon

We continue our review of ANPR cards this week. Today is Kuribon, the coveted "girl Kuriboh". She has 300 ATK and 200 DEF, which means that she won't be doing any battle damage anytime soon. She is also a level 1 LIGHT Fairy, which helps with the comboing of other Kuriboh cards and Sky Scourge Norleras.

Her effect is that when she is face-up and selected as an attack target, you take no damage during damage calculation and your opponent gains lifepoints equal to the attacking monster's ATK. Then Kuribon returns to the owner's hand.

This is a far better effect than a lot fo people give her credit for. It places her out of reach of Murmillo's Destruction efefct for one thing and also allows you to continuously stop attacks at the cost of your opponent gaining lifepoints every turn. That can be negated however, by using a simple card called Bad Reaction to Simochi and it's monster cousin, Nurse Reficule.

Instead of gaining the lifepoints from Kuribon's effect, they will instead be losing that much life, essentially meaning that they HAVE to kill Kuribon or they will lose the game as they cannot inflict damage. A deck packing these cards, a few burn spells and a few lifegain spells and the rest counter traps can do fairly well against the standard decks this format.

It is just a fun idea, but watch out! At a big tournament there is sure to be SOMEONE using a deck like this to destroy the rank and file decks out there.
