Well, we have a new Ban List folks, so it's Ban List week. This week we will be reviewing cards who either had their Ban/Restricted status changed, or who may not have changed their status, but that they are better because of the new List.

Starting the week we look at an old friend, Android Psycho Shocker.
Jinzo has been completely taken off the Ban List, meaning that you could use three Jinzo in your Deck, if you so choose. Now, generally, if a card goes from being at one, then two, then three, it just isn't good anymore.

Jinzo most definitely IS a good card. Our mechanical friend is just outclassed by most, if not all, of the Monarchs, as I'm sure anyone who plays this game is all ready aware. I believe there is quite a difference between outclassed and not being good.

Last format, when we got Jinzo at two per Deck, I thought maybe people would try a Jinzo lockdown Deck, maybe with Hours or something also.
Wouldn't that be something fun to play against folks?

Welcome to Forbidden List week!  This week, we'll be looking at cards whose status has changed on the Forbidden/Limited Lists with the March update.

Jinzo is now at 3 per deck...it was at 2 last list.  How many ran 2?  How many are going to run 3 now?

Honestly, I don't think this changes much.  You might have people try Escape from the Different Dimension in a dark deck that removes Jinzo and then revives it, to take Call of the Haunted's place.  The thing is, there are enough effects that can dump or remove Jinzo pretty much at will, you don't need three copies.  Armageddon Knight can dump him; Foolish Burial can dump him; Allure can remove him, and if he's in the Graveyard, Strike Ninja/Bazoo can remove him for use with the revival traps.

He's still good, and a boon to Dark decks, but you shouldn't see triples of him all that often.

General Zorpa Jinzo
 
Everybody's favorite Android Psycho Shocker is back at a level that he has not seen in recent memory. 1 Jinzo was bad enough, but now we have to deal with 3. This means that trap cards just took a huge hit, with Jinzo becoming obviously one of the number one picks in the game to counter traps, be a large beatstick and just an all around, well Jinzo. Jinzo has been rated about 50 million times, so I will only go over the new combos and such.
 
He is a DARK monster, which is pretty much an auto-win for a DARK deck. Jinzo will often be the finishing blow, or the set up for Dark Armed Dragon and Dark Creator. He doesn't mind being removed for Allure or as a cost as Escape can just bring him back even on the chain for massive devastation. Jinzo also fills the slot left by Raiza in most decks, just fyi. He doesn't spin, but is almost as disruptive. Expect to see Enemy Controller, Book of Moon, Shrink and even Rush Recklessly see play more and more to counter the possibility of this guy hitting the field.

David "BobDole" Hoffman Jinzo

Well here's a card I wasn't expecting to review anytime... ever.

For those of you who started their YGO career back in the day (2002 was it?), I'm sure you can remember the rage that surrounded this card. When it was released, you HAD to have this card to stand a chance at winning a tournament. It was a 2400 ATK monster that could negate a third of the opponents deck by itself. People went nuts over this thing. It quickly became the most sought after card in the game.

Well, times have changed and while Jinzo can still cost you a pretty penny, the value of a trap-negating tribute monster has dropped significantly. It's still a good bet in the sidedeck (though most people are more willing to side Royal Decree over this), and Machine decks can benefit from it still. It's just not the dramatic game changer that it used to be. Of course back then, you could end a game in a few turns.

- The effect of negating traps is still a pretty decent one. Granted, Royal Decree can do it much quicker, but Jinzo was judged to be the better of the two since it gave you a 2400 ATK monster to back it up. Stopping traps in general is still a fantastic effect, but most decks nowadays aren't as focused on traps anymore.

All in all Jinzo's still a great monster. He's always in my sidedeck, and he's won me more than a few duels. He may not be as dominating as he was back then, but he still packs quite the punch.

Traditional: 4/5 He's a Dark. Yay.
Advanced: 3/5 Royal Decree is probably the better choice here.

Good old Jinzo…x 3?

Arguably one of the best DARK monsters for 1 Tribute, Jinzo boasts 2400 ATK – a rather standard stat nowadays, yet still solid. 1500 DEF is definitely better than Monarchial 1000 DEF. Hydrogeddon and Blue Thunder T-45 can destroy this in Defense, but then again, almost all Monsters are vulnerable in Defense Position.

Of course, Jinzo’s effect is only supported by its solid stats – Royal Decree that suppresses the activation, and a beatstick. An advantage of using Jinzo over Mobius the Frost Monarch is that Jinzo’s effect is continuous – the effect never “activates,” therefore does not use a chain and cannot be chained to. Bottomless Trap Hole and Torrential Tribute are all useless against this Machine. Solemn Judgment and other Counter Traps that negate the summon DO work, because the summon never happened and the effect was never “turned on.”

With PTDN DARK support, Jinzo set up a gigantic Dimension Fusion/Return from the Different Dimension play, or even Escape from the Dark Dimension that negates a Trap. Add in Limiter Removal (though space seems to be a limiting factor in most DARK decks), and 8000 is really nothing.

I personally expected Jinzo to move back to its former Limited status, but instead it went back to 3. The fact that one cannot benefit from running Jinzo in triplet really supported that. Well, I’m a big fan of Jinzo, so…

This change most likely killed burn theme – while Skill Drain can negate Jinzo’s effect if Skill Drain flips up before Jinzo arrives, now there are 5 cards to stop Magic Cylinder, Dimension Wall, Ojama Trio (which is limited to 1), Just Desserts, and other annoying Traps. Royal Decree is chainable by itself anyway.

Traditional: 2/5 Good, but Traps are too slow here.
Advanced: 3.8/5 Works with Armageddon Knight, Dark Grepher, and others.

    This is going to be one insane, maniac week for me, but don't ask why because that's personal. Anyway, this week is going to be special since we're reviewing the new Ban List cards that changed positions and today is the one, the only, JINZO! It's pretty crazy that you can run 3 copies of this card now and probably will either be ignored since 2 is usually enough OR it will abused heavily in some sort of Dark-Theme deck or Negation deck with HORUS the Black Flame Dragon Lv.6 and Lv.8. Here are the pros about this Jinzo and how you should or might use it in future decks since it is now unlimited to 3 copies per deck (These are pretty straight forward and obvious to you long-time metagame duelists):
  1. Negates all trap cards so you don't have to worry too much about enemy face-downs unless they're nasty quick-play spells such as the newly semi-limited Book of Moon which will be reviewed later this week, Enemy Controller, and the new Fires of Doomsday from Phantom Darkness.
  2. Has a solid 2400 ATK to match up and kamikaze with Monarchs.
  3. Dark Attribute so you can combine it with cards such as Escape from a Dark Dimension, Dark Creator, and Graveyard Fuel for Dark Armed Dragon, Dark Nepthys, etc. You can use Jinzo in Dark-Theme Decks also.
  4. It's a machine so you can use it in a Chimeratech OTK deck that seems to be on the rise again after about 2 years. Use Dekoichi, Battle-Chanted Locomotive, Jinzo, and other Dark machines to dump into the graveyard with Future Fusion+Overload Fusion and then special summon Dark Armed Dragon with the remaining 3 Dark Machines in your graveyard for an ultimate OTK.

Ed Monday - Jinzo

So we're reviewing the card that made a pretty big change in the game of Yu-gi-oh. Jinzo has the ability to negate all traps and keep them from being activated while he's face-up on your side of the field. It also has decent attack points so it can take out many other monsters. Jinzo is just so awesome because it can completely take your mind off face-down traps waiting for their trigger to go off.
Since it's ban list week for the COTD's, I'll talk a bit about what I think will happen with Jinzo at 3. Personally, I don't think that this will affect the decks too much, and I feel Jinzo will only be run in pairs at most, but never in 3's. With so many people running Solemn Judgment now, it'll be particularly easy to prevent Jinzo from being a problem. However, I still feel that this card will be included in many decks in the new format.

Traditional: 4/5 - Good DARK for Chaos.
Advanced: 4/5

Art: 2/5 - Looks kinda funky.
Pwii Ok, since the new banlist just came out, pojo is doing a week on some pivotal cards. Today's is jinzo.

Ok, so I admit a lockdown deck using 3 jinzo's and 3 decree might be nice, but if it becomes tier 1 (I have no idea what that means. Is it 'really good?') I'm gonna scream at how @!#$%& upperdeck turned the meta into a rich man's game. This does nothing good or bad for me because I cant afford it, and I'm guessing neither can my freinds. The card in and of itself is awesome.

Ex` Monday March 3rd: Jinzo

Hello again, This week's segment is Ban List week and we'll be reviewing cards that got affected by the new ban list. Today's review is about Jinzo, the once mechanical bad boy that apparently just got out on probation. I would never never NEVER expect this beast to be running at 3 per deck. On to better things, lets discuss his roles thanks to his unlimitation

At 3, you will be able to draw it most of the time, not to expect actually summoning it. Many players will need to play around it to succeed when he's on the field. Currently, most decks don't even need 3 Jinzos until the set after Phantom Darkness is released. When that happens, you'd wish Jinzo was back at 1

Rating:

Traditional: 3/5 (One of the Mainstay Darks of Traditional, and having 3 of him will add huge benefits over time)

Advanced: 4/5 (Jinzo has been overlooked throughout formats thanks to Monarchs, but it is still vicious, even without his buddy Call of the Haunted)

Advanced (New Set): 4.5/5 (OTK seazon)
