Dark Paladin

Closing the week, we look at a very interesting card for the Zombie Deck, The Lady in Wight.  She is a Dark monster who is Level 3 with 0 attack and an awesomely solid 2200 defense.  0 attack, in short, sucks ass.  However, you don't need to attack with the Lady...probably ever.

Now, the Lady protects face-up Level 3 or lower Zombie monsters you control from being destroyed by Battle and from the effects of Magic and Trap cards.  That's awesome protection, even for a few specific cards in your Deck.

The Lady herself is immune to her own protective power, but with 2200 defense, even in this quick paced Format, will require a tribute or a Magic or Trap card to be destroyed.  In short, I like the Lady.

SKULL SERVANTS!!!!!! Yeah I was a little excited about this card. As far as stats go, 0 ATK is bleah, but 2200 DEF is really nice. DARK Zombie is even better, meaning that Allure of Darkness and ALL of that Zombie support can be used here. In fact Zombie Master would be really nice to play with this even for a last ditch defense.

As for the effect, she grants immunity from destruction. Yeah, for level 3 or lower Zombie monsters. But still, any other card fitting the level and type requirements except for herself is immune to effects except for monster effects and cannot be destroyed in battle. This is a boon to Skull Servant, as he fits the requirements, as does King of the Skull Servants. But also Spirit Reaper fits the bill too, making him even more annoying. Then she counts as a Skull Servant in the graveyard for King of the Skull Servants.

Her defense is good, and might see some play outside of a Skull deck, but I doubt it. She belongs in a Skull deck. End of story. But she does make the Skull deck even more fun to play.

The Lady In Wight

 I'm lazy.

The first thing you should notice about LiW is the pun in her name. The second thing you should notice is her rather nice 2200 DEF - something not shared by a lot of monsters today. It's easily the best DEF on a level 3 monster I can think of.

Now the other great thing about her is the fact that she's purely support - and support that can last for a little bit. Basically unless your opponant has some high attack power on the field or a smashing ground/Lightning Vortex handy, they can't do a whole lot to kill LiW.

The biggest downside is her ability to only affect level 3 or lower Zombie monsters. If she affected all Zombies, she'd be an Ultra/Secret and be worth about 100$ or more.

Now the icing on the cake is the whole Skull Servant effect, making her extremely effective in a King of Skull Servent deck. Actually, she basically makes that a viable deck. Almost entirely by herself. Only the future can tell how she'll do, but I have a feeling that Zombie Decks will take quickly to this lovely new addition.

Traditional: 1.5/5 Since she's probably not going to last long nomatter what you do.
Advanced: 3/5 I think she'll catch on, but maybe that's just me.

Pwii

Hi! I'm really super sorry I haven't reviewed at all this week, but a strange turn of events including the millennium items, yami pwii, and me getting the date mixed up kept me from this. So look back on the week cuz I've written some more.

The lady in the wight would be good in a deck I just thought of two seconds ago: Normal monarch. It would take to much time to explain, but if you're confused as to what it is just e-mail me and I'll comply. It also helps GZ's deck: Reverse the limit. It's also good in fun lockdown decks, but sadly nothing extremely competitive. There even might be an OTK somewhere out there with this and king of the soul servents. Or not.

Today’s card up for review is The Lady in Wight. This is a very interesting card to me. Being a 3* with 2200 defense is very impressive! It is also one of my favorite deck types! Now if this game was a little slower right now, I could see this card being played. Remember a few years back, with how annoying King of The Skulls servants was, well it just got a staple card for the deck. While it is in the graveyard, you can remove it for King Of The Skull Servants effect, so the card has that going for it. Not allowing your opponent to attack or use spell and trap cards on your 3* or lower zombies is amazing. Not being able to hit a Spirit Reaper, Soul Absorbing Bone Tower, or even the decks powerhouse, King Of The Skull Servant. I see big potential in this card if the format gets slowed down a little bit. Until then, this card will fall under the “just for fun” pile.

Finally one of the most broken cards in Yu Gi Oh history gets much needed support.  Skull Servant has long be known to be uber broken and that is probably the cause for delay in any support cards.  Now enter his girlfriend.  With a 2200 DEF she definitely has “Junk in Her Trunk” that won’t easily be defeated.   In addition, she extends protection to a whole host of little Zombies the like only Spirit Reaper enjoyed.  And now, even his is immune to Spells and Traps.  King of Skull Servants can now reach 6000ATK.  Massive!!  If we get the Field Spell “Zombie World” in the next structure she gains more utility.

Playing with the undead is always fun!

The Lady in Wight is no exception!

lets take a look at her

The whole skull servant arch-type just got a huge boost! This just has a calling for a deck around it. It's treated as skull servant in the grave. It's search-able by mystic tomato! Heck, she has a freaking huge defense! You'll force your opponent to use gyzarus or bring out murmillo to take it down in a gladiator beast deck. Forcing their hand to strike back with skull servant king? AWESOME!

Now, outside a skull servant deck? No Zombie monster can be killed in battle, and spell and trap cards have no effects on them. Holy. Freaking. Crap. If only you could equip her with something like united we stand. It's a pretty good effect that could be utilized with a Kokki or IL blud out on the field.

Now, of course, it gets a 5/5.... in a skull servant deck Traditional or Advanced

It gets a 2.45/5 in a normal zombie deck in advance. Just pitch it with zombie master and get it back later! Great for a swarm though if you have 2+ Zombie masters on the field. It just seems like it miiiiight slow things down.

I am not sure how she'd play in traditional, but I imagine around a 1.4/5. There's just not a lot of ability to fool around where every deck can kill you consistantly in 1-3 turns.
