Gyroid

Gyroid is actually a decent card. I've played against a crazy old guy who has used this card to some success, not as a true Roid deck, but as a chump blocker in addition to Spirit Reaper.

Gyroid's a 1000/1000 3-star Wind monster that absorbs one attack per turn through its effect. Those stats have a lot going for it; Flying Kamikiri can search it out as it's under 1500, as can many other cards. It's a fairly safe opening play that, without Cyber Dragon + another attacker, ensures that you'll have tribute fodder for the next turn. 1000 damage isn't negligible as an attacker either...well, from Sangan, anyway.

The tough thing here is that this format does tend to have more monsters thrown out and attacking than previous ones, so that effect may end up being for not. It may save you life points against a 2nd attacker, but it won't actually generate any advantage that way, and there are better options for tribute fodder.

It has some potential, just not in the mainstream.

Gyroid:
Please do not attempt to crash a helocopter in order to see how it survives. In real life, helocopters die the first time around.

Gyroid isn't a bad card. In fact, its rather good.
However, its low stats mean it simply acts as a temporary wall. Machine decks would have larger, more dangerous creatures to summon, stall decks have better methods of stalling. Basically, this ain't Reaper.
But, it could be an interesting target for Giant Rat to stop a barrage of attacks.

gyroid

This monster is an integral part of the roid deck, wind deck, and any player smart enough to use him.

Forcing over extensions from your opponent, which play into your favor if you run a bunch of monster removal. Burn decks/stall decks make this thing into a wall against the average cc deck, simply because G-Bind and Level Limit Area B shut down most monsters with 1100 plus attack.

A machine who can ram himself into an exiled force and still defend. Killer top deck when your opponent is top-decking.

3.8/5

One of my favorite common cards of all time.

Gyroid

Basic Summary: Finally I have some time on the internet thats not time restricted  or not having Wordpad =/ ( darn Public Library ) so I decided to do all my reviews ahead just in case someone actually misses my reviews lol. Now today we get to look at one of the few good " Vehicroid " monsters released in CRV & PoTD. Now its stats are not really worth wild but the somewhat watered down Spirit Reaper effect ( and  without the hand discarding effect ), Now the effect is rather decent for this deck-type since not only does it have a Fusion with another " Vehicroid " but it helps maintain field control to stall for time until they can draw into something that can deal enough damage to win the game or something..... like Limiter Removal or Cyber-Stein too Super Vehicroid Jumbo Drill then Limiter Removal :D

Conclusion: Now like most new themes released from the GX most aren't splashable in competitive decks soo keep this little machine in its own theme deck.

Traditional Format > 1/5: Now I said this before most stuff in Traditional destroys without attacking soo just overlook this card period.

Advance Format > 5/5 ( Vehicroid deck ) Gyroid + Supercharge = good times :D

Artwork > 1/5: What happened to scary looking Machines like Cyber-Stein or Jinzo now little cartoons...mehh

Gyroid

Everyone loves Gyroid. If you’re thinking about making a Roid deck you need to have 1-2 of these guys. His effect is much like a weaker Spirit Reaper and his ATK power is much higher.

His effect is mainly used for Tribute purposes in Machine decks to help bring out anything from Zaborg, Mobius, and Thestalos to Blowback Dragon, Jinzo, and even Spell Canceller.

Last Word: Gyroid is very self-explanatory. It’s a good card for Machine decks where you lose your creatures very easily. The more field presence a Machine deck has, the faster you are going to lose.

I’m very grateful for the support and I encourage you to e-mail me more decks. I’ve answered more than half of these e-mails. E-Mail me at deathjester86@gmail.com.

Gyroid is a Level 3 Wind/Machine/Effect Monster with an ATK and DEF of 1000 each.  This makes it small, searchable (Flying Kamakiri #1, Last Will, Sangan, and UFOroid) and able to attack under the big three stall cards (Level Limit-Area B, Gravity Bind, and Messenger of Peace).  Its effect means that once per turn, it survives and attack that should have destroyed it via battle.  So it won’t protect it from an attack triggered effect, like Ninja Grand Master Sasuke attack Gyroid if it is in face-up Defense Position.  Additionally, Gyroid can be combined with Steamroid to create Steam Gyroid (6/Earth/Machine/Fusion/2200/1600), which is a nice bonus if you already have something that can initiate the Fusion in the deck (an actual ‘roids deck, The Earth – Hex-Sealed Fusion, etc).

Simply put, Gyroid is one of the top ‘roids: its effect makes it a balanced version of Spirit Reaper more or less.  If it wasn’t for Cyber Dragon “and friend” being such a common first/second turn move, it might even be worth running in any deck that needs something small to stall.  As far as ‘roid Monsters go, Gyroid is one of the best and probably the best defensively: keeping two Monsters in play can be hard and who wants to waste a Spell or Trap to destroy something so small?  Only Drillroid, and Steamroid match or surpass it’s, though those focus on offense and not defense.

Gyroid is a must for any competitive ‘roid deck and a solid choice Machine or Wind decks (assuming they use Flying Kamakiri #1 to search it out).  Actual ‘roid decks seem so tantalizing: we looked at one of their support cards last week, and they do have a few more.  The problem I see is that big issue of no ‘roid searcher worth using (UFOroid would be fine if it didn’t require Tribute to Normal Summon).  The fact that its best use is in a deck of questionable quality hurts its scores in the end.
