Nightmare Wheel

A previous staple in burn decks, not so much any more...

Finishing out "you can't attack" week, you get a Trap that's essentially the same as Mask of the Accursed, except you can target a face-down with it.

There are cards that do more damage, but this could possibly be included in a few burn decks given the limitation of Gravity Bind and Level Limit - Area B. I just don't see it doing much more than that, with so many chainables like Secret Barrel, Ceasefire, Ring of Destruction, Poison of the Old Man, etc. that are generally more solid cards.

I've always liked Nightware Wheel. It has good art, deals a reasonable amount of damage each turn, and, most importantly for the burn deck, can lock face-downs where they are (no MoF for you!). It has all the standard weaknesses of continuous cards, but this one just does its job properly. However, it only really has a place in a burn deck which has mostly died now. Sob.

This card is fun to use. I've witnessed games won and lost at the 500 damage this thing drops. But it still does not help clear the field. It clutters it. Maybe ataching an ojama token would be fun but that is still 2 minus ones in a row.

Nightmare Wheel

Ahhh, the crème del a crème of Stall burn. It warms a guys heart this does.

Almost an expansion on the ideas from the last 2 days cards Nightmare wheel is a fairly decent trap that serves as an attack negator, and a minor damage inflictor all in one.

Slowly reoccurring 500 damage may not seem like much, but in this format 1000 can easily make all the difference. Ring of Destruction and Magic Cylinder can be game enders on their own, but in Speed burn with stuff like Ceasefire, who can argue that 8000 lp won’t be lasting long.

As long as this card is face up it’s pretty decent. Obviously that ties in with the same weakness’s all continuous card have, but whatever.

Nightmare Wheel

Good morning, afternoon, and evening everyone! Today’s card is Nightmare Wheel. A card that I’ve hated since the day it was released. It’s not that I think the card is bad it’s just that it’s very annoying.

It’s a very effective stall card that is never used in contemporary Stall decks. Why is that? Maybe people think it’s a slow card. Maybe people don’t want to bother since a Stein deck can blow everything away. Who knows…?

I like the card because it can target face-down creatures and keep them face-down! That’s a great ability. 500 LP per Standby Phase isn’t bad either. I have a feeling that Burn/Stall decks are going to explode after the release of the latest set. Especially since Burn/Stall decks are master Chain makers. No other deck has the ability to stack more crap on the Chain than a Burn/Stall deck. Believe me. I smell some Burn OTKs coming around town soon (Heck, I’m building one right now).

Here are some rulings courtesy of NetRep.net to illustrate my point on why Nightmare Wheel is better than most think:

Rulings
• You can target a face-down monster for "Nightmare Wheel".
• If you activate "Nightmare Wheel" during the Battle Step and target a monster that is attacking, the attack stops.
• "Nightmare Wheel" targets. You select the monster when "Nightmare Wheel" is activated.
• "Nightmare Wheel" is destroyed when the targeted monster is destroyed, returned to the hand, removed from play, send to the Graveyard, etc.
• "Nightmare Wheel" is NOT destroyed if the monster is flipped face-down. "Nightmare Wheel" continues to target the monster, inflict damage, and prevent the monster from attacking or changing battle position.

Last Word: I like Nightmare Wheel a lot. I’d use this card in a Burn/Stall deck; hands down.

I’d like to ask all of your reader to e-mail some Burn/Stall decks that you may have. If you have any ideas concerning the new “Chain” cards from the next set: Cyberdark Impact I would love to discuss. Don’t be shy, I DO answer my e-mails as quickly as a possibly can.

E-mail me any decks you readers may have to: deathjester86@gmail.com. I don’t care if those decks are ‘cookie-cutter’ or not. I DO fix or comment on decks, but please be patient as I get quite a few e-mails daily. I have a 2 week maximum waiting time for a reply to an email due to the demand for my deck advice. This gives me time to completely focus on your e-mail and give you the best response. I am responding to e-mails in the order they come. The sooner you e-mail me, the sooner I can get to your deck or answer your question.
