Magical Explosion

And now, for a new One Turn Kill possibility to take place of the several that were nuked with the last list...

Basically, the deck works like this; 3 copies of Reasoning, very few monsters (at least one of which is Ouststanding Dog Marron, another is Dark Magician of Chaos, and Cannon Soldier or Toon Cannon Soldier will also help the deck), MUCHO deck thinning cards, and 3 copies of Magical Explosion. Mill through half your deck, throw 20 Spells in the graveyard, activate 2 Magical Explosion, gg.

The deck has a lot of problems going against it though; enough that Cyber-Stein (or Cyber-Stein Burn switchout) are still better choices if playing a one turn kill. I still like this deck as a whole though, but there hasn't been a TRULY solid build thrown out yet.

I give the deck as a whole a 3.25/5 (compared to Cyber-Stein, which I give 4.25/5 to.)

Dark Paladin
Today we shift to the burn theme by looking at a Trap, Magical Explsion. The effect is simple, inflict 200 points of damage to your opponent for each Magic card in their Graveyard.

It may not seem like much, but decks run around 15 Magic cards. So if you play this late game, saying your opponent has 10 or 15 Magic cards in their Graveyard, you'll be dealing 2000 or more points of damage.

In a dedicated burn deck, try one, but it may not be very useful in early or even mid game, as I stated, but then again, you could be surprised.

Ratings:

2.75/5 all around

You stay classy, Planet Earth :)

Magical Explosion:
A wonerful, wonderful deck...

...that is very easily neutered. I've been playing around with this card (which MUST only be run in its own deck) and have enjoyed it quite a lot. If you draw Reasoning and two of these, you should probably win the game.

The problem is that if Reasoning hits a monster too quickly, your opponent plays any of Royal Decree, Pikeru's Circle of Enchantment, Des Koala, etc., or you don't draw a Reasoning, the deck loses.

It seems OTK will remain dead, just as Konami wants.

Traditional: 2/5
Advanced: 2.5/5

Share and enjoy,

Magical Explosion
Group: Trap Card
Type: Trap
You can only activate this card when you have no cards in your hand. Inflict 200 points of damage to your opponent's Life Points for each Spell Card in your Graveyard.

Neat!

OTK's based around this card are pretty cool and interesting. I'm still in Tennessee until the end of May from the Hurricane, and a local around here has a variant of the OTK using this card.

Its pretty straight forward; just know that Reasoning doesn't work with this. If no monsters are picked up, they all go back to the deck(The magics, that is.).

Dark Maltos

Magical Explosion

Ooh, a trap which involves the spell caster genre of traps which promotes bad hand management, - I’m intrigued.

Magical Explosion pretty much does what it say on the tin, a massive lp explosion which has something to do with spells, doing 200 for every one in your grave. At maximum, that’d be about 3200, so overall not much comparing it to Ceasefires potential 5000, and Ceasefire doesn’t even have an activation restriction.

Traditional ; 1/5
Advanced : 1/5 Come on, really…
Art : 4/5 Redeeming, seems like Old vindictive magician has had just about enough….
MPS : 2/5 Intriguing, but I’d avoid it.

Magical Explosion

This card is useless unless you run it in a deck built around it.

Tomorrow I plan on posting a feature article demonstrating a deck used by a fan in which he maxes out this card and tomorrow's cotd to the extreme.

As for its rating, in its deck I must give it a 3/5 because the decks win condition does not, nor should it, revolve only around this card.

As random tech, I must ask you why??

Poison of The Old Man is much better :P

1/5
