Clock Tower Prison

In a D-Hero deck, it's the best way to bring out your Dreadmaster. Other than that, if it survives the four turns, it's a Tornado Wall until it is destroyed.

Let's make something perfectly clear though -- NOTHING in this game survives four of a single player's turns unless it's an absolute fluke.

A good deck involving a few D-Hero monsters can be made without this, and without Dreadmaster. Throw this thing in the trade binder.

If you hadn't guessed, we're looking at the D-Hero field Magic card today, and this is of course, Clock Tower Prison. Again, just for clarification, here are official rulings from UDE.com

CLOCK TOWER PRISON

Putting a Clock Counter on “Clock Tower Prison” can be chained to. The effect to Special Summon “Destiny Hero – Dreadmaster” can also be chained to. The effect that stops Battle Damage is a Continuous Effect that cannot be chained to.

If “Clock Tower Prison” with 4 or more Clock Counters is destroyed because a new Field Spell Card is activated, “Clock Tower Prison’s”
effect will activate.

However, the most IMPORTANT part I believe is the fact that you could choose NOT to summon Dreadmaster, and just not take any Battle Damage when you get the necessary counters which would force your opponent to destroy it.

Ratings:

4.5/5 D-Hero You can't get anything until you have 4 counters, and if it's prematurely destroyed, it was a waste.

Art: 4/5

You stay classy, Planet Earth :)

If “Spell Canceller” is Summoned or “Imperial Order” is activated, all the Clock Counters will be removed from “Clock Tower Prison”.

So, despite the fact you have to wait 4 of your opponents turns for anything exciting to happen, (summoning Dreadmaster), and waiting for things generally sucks, this is fairly easy, and isn't that long.

048 CLOCK TOWER PRISON
(SUPER RARE) FIELD SPELL CARD

(Effect) - PUT 1 CLOCK COUNTER ON THIS CARD DURING EACH OF YOUR OPPONENT'S STANDBY PHASES. WHILE THERE ARE 4 OR MORE CLOCK COUNTERS ON THIS CARD, THE CONTROLLER OF THIS CARD DOES NOT RECIEVE ANY BATTLE DAMAGE. WHEN THIS CARD WITH 4 OR MORE CLOCK COUNTERS IS DESTROYED AND SENT TO THE GRAVEYARD, SPECIAL SUMMON 1 "DESTINY HERO - DREADMASTER" FROM YOUR HAND OR DECK

I know a few people that are going crazy about this card at my local card tourny. This card has two effects, but is mainly meant for one in my opinion. The thought of having one card on the field that can stop all battle damage that would’ve hurt you, sounds amazing at first. However, a card like this will need support, like some of the cards in this weeks previously reviewed cards of the day. Some things I have seen people try with this card, is play magic reflector on it. Sure, you can get a special summoning out of it, but unless you’re playing a D hero deck, its pretty much just tribute bait, and there’s no guarantee you’ll get the summoning anyway, like if a giant trunade sends it back, you’ve wasted your clock tower, and the possible m. reflectors you used on it. Plus, if you have it at four turns, why would you want to have it destroyed? You’re invincible in battle! But like most cards, situational…

Hmm, I wont leave you guess with this one, I don’t like it.

You have to wait 4 turns (or I think perhaps technically 3) to receive ANY benefit from this as far as I can tell, and even then its not really worth it. A continuous hallowed life barrier, yum. Why this is super is beyond me, but whatever. Now that thing with Gagagigo getting toasted by Invader of Darkness, THAT was cool.

Its situational, for 4 turns (IF it lasts that long, which I hope to god it wont) its useless, and then when it finally does receive a use, you’re praying that it does die!!! No thanks, I’d rather use Kleenex….
