ExMinion OfDarkness
D. D. Warrior

Hear that? That's the sound of wads of cash being plunked down to pick up the best TP Ultra we've had in 3 sets.

So many people right now run D. D. Assailant in multiples, and run the copy of Warrior Lady they're around. D. D. Warrior is significantly weaker in a lot of ways (not just the ATK score) but could see play either as tech, or in a full-blown RFG deck.

The two bad things here; DDW only has 1200 ATK, so it's not going to take much out without taking damage in the pricess, and worse off, it MUST remove any time it battles, even if it wouldn't die. If it attacks a Scapegoat, it's removed. If it attacks a face-down Magician of Faith, they're removed, and so on. However, given that Anthony Alvarado had one in his T8 deck from the most recent Shonen Jump Championship, it'll undoubtedly be teched in by netdeckers everywhere.

The good things; it can be searched out by Giant Rat or Warrior Lady of the Wasteland. Someone running 3 of this, 3 Assailants, 1 DDWL, and the complement of searchers, barring D. D. Survivor, is going to have one tough time getting an attack off without their monsters being removed as well. I'd love to see someone make that deck and pilot it to success, personally -- it'd be the ultimate testament to cookie-cutter.

Had this card not been Friday's choice, it would have been my reviewer's choice yesterday.

2/5 Traditional
3.25/5 Advanced
WiCkEd D.D. Warrior

Well, this guy is the original "D.D.", the first in the line. Ironically, he was released...not so early. His stats are meh, but his effect is rather hot. He has an automatic removal effect no matter if it attack something or it gets attacked. I find this troublesome, but, it can be good. Don't get me wrong, D.D. Warrior IS a good card, I just don't see it matching up to D.D. Assailant or D.D. Warrior Lady.

Traditional: 2/5 (I guess you could run it)
Advanced: 2.5/5 (Eh...like I said...)
Casual: 3/5 (50/50 shot at greatness here...just use it wherever...)

Dark Paladin
To close out my week, which appears to be themeless, we look at the new
TP7 Ultra Rare...DD Warrior.

Dimensional Warrior aka DD Warrior TP7 Ultra Rare Earth-Warrior
4 stars
1200-1000

Effect: When this card attacks OR is attacked, both this card, and the opposing monster are removed from play and CANNOT return during the current duel.

When this card gets mass released, through a Dark Beginning/Dark Revelation, I would almost immediately expect this card to be restricted. Why? Three reasons.

One: If you purposely summon this monster in attack mode, you are obviously asking the opponent to attack. A mockery, if you will.
Thereby forcing your opponent to either a) attack with a crappy mosnter they don't card about being removed, or b) you force your opponent into wasting a Dark Hole or Lightning Vortex just to rid the field of DD Warrior.

Two: This is one hell of a set. Your opponent will be shocked (especially if you have one NOW) to run a Jinzo, Mobius, DDWL, DD Assailant, or anything for that matter and learn that their card is gone for the duel.

Three: Raw power...you can purposely ram this 1200 attack into something strong to rid yourself of the card permanently, and all you did was take some damage. Aside from the lost lifepoints, it's a 1 for 1. Ram this into Jinzo, you lose 1200 points, but their Jinzo is gone...for good. No Dimension Fusion, Return From the Different Dimension, etc.

I really REALLY like this card, so I'm a bit biased, but I really want to get one as soon as possible.

Ratings:

Traditional: 3.5/5
Advanced Control: 4.9/5 Sheer dominant control!

Art: 4.75/5 Also impressive...the only real con now is the fact that hardly anyone has one.

You stay classy, Planet Earth :)
