Pojo's Yu-Gi-Oh Card of the Day

Amazoness Archers

Card Number - MFC-096

Ratings are based on a 1 to 5 scale
1 being the worst.  3 ... average.
5 is the highest rating

Date Reviewed - 11.04.03

SomeGuy
Tuesday - Amazoness Archers

This card can only be activated when your opponent attacks and you control a monster on your side of the field that includes "Amazoness" in its card name, or is named "Amazon Archer". All monsters on your opponent's side of the field become face-up Attack Position (Flip effects do not activated) and as long as they remain face up on the field decrease their ATK by 500 points. Your opponent must attack with all these monsters this turn.
Amazoness Archers isn't too bad in a deck strictly based on the Amazoness trait. Just don't expect it to topple your basic New Age Beatdown and Hand Control decks.

Although it is another idea for a casual deck. Screwing over all of your opponent's Monsters with just one card can be nice. But of course, it all depends on the current situation. Anything can happen.

In Limited, it's a bomb. Run it if you see it. And from there on, take each and every Amazoness you see. Don't be surprised if this card paves the way for a Limited Tournament win.

Amazoness Archers:
MFC-096-Super Rare
Trap: Normal
Effect: This card can only be activated when your opponent attacks and you control a monster on your side of the field that includes "Amazoness" in its card name, or is named "Amazon Archer". All monsters on your opponent's side of the field become face-up Attack Position (Flip effects do not activated) and as long as they remain face up on the field decrease their ATK by 500 points. Your opponent must attack with all these monsters this turn.

Pros:
Cancels out Flip-Effects if any
Reduces opposing Monsters ATK by 500

Cons:
Can only be chained to an attack
can only be activated if you have an Amazon out
Might not want certain Monster(s) to attack you

Combos:
Mirror Force - Make all the opposing Monsters Face-Up Attack and be destroyed.
Waboku + Wall OF Illusion + Patrician Of Darkness - Well yeah it takes 5 cards to pull it off, but you end up returning all your opponents Monsters to their hand.

Notes:
Well first off, I want to state that Amazon Archer was originally named Amazoness Archer, and that's why they added the "or is named Amazon Archer" to a couple cards. The card itself is a bit strange, you would basically have to either have a Mirror Force set or a very powerful Monster to withstand all the attacks. Not a lot of Amazons are that strong either, so it really has to be timed right and with it not being chainable to anything but an attack it is easy MST prey.

I have yet to see this card played so I haven't been able to see it's effectiveness, but I think Amazoness Deck will become somewhat popular, for at lease a day or two maybe.

Ratings:
Casual: 3.0
Tourney: 2.5
ArtWork: 2.5 - Eh, nothing spectacular. Just some pissed-off Amazons shooting off as many arrows as they can, but I wouldn't want to get in their way.
