Supreme King Gate Zero - #MACR-EN017

Pendulum EffectIf you control "Supreme King Z-ARC", you take no damage. Once per turn, if you have "Supreme King Gate Infinity" in your other Pendulum Zone: You can destroy both cards in your Pendulum Zones, and if you do, add 1 "Polymerization" Spell Card or "Fusion" Spell Card from your Deck to your hand. Monster EffectOnce per turn: You can target 1 other face-up card you control; destroy both it and this card, and if you do, Special Summon 1 Dragon-Type Fusion or Synchro Monster from your Extra Deck, but its ATK and DEF become 0, it has its effects negated, also it cannot be used as a Material for a Synchro or Xyz Summon. If this card in the Monster Zone is destroyed by battle or card effect: You can place this card in your Pendulum Zone.

Hello readers, and welcome to Z-ARC Week! Due to Monday being a holiday, we are doing a twofer Tuesday to make it up. Today is the perfect day for it, as we review the 0 and 13 scales of the Z-ARC archetype.

Supreme King Gate Zero is one of the first two 0 scales in this game, because apparently it would be too broken to Pendulum Summon level 1 monsters. In the pendulum scale, Gate Zero has two effects. First off, if you have Supreme King Z-ARC on the field, you take no damage whatsoever. Your opponent has to out the Z-ARC if they want to deal any sort of damage, unless they play Exodia or something. The other effect of Gate Zero is to pop it and a Gate Infinity in your other scale to search for a Polymerization or Fusion spell card. This will likely be after a Pendulum Summon as Gate Infinity prevents you from Pendulum Summoning if you control a monster.

For the monster effect, Gate Zero can let you pop itself and a face-up card on the field to summon a Dragon-type Synchro or Fusion monster from the Extra Deck. This monster summoned has its ATK become 0, its effect is negated, and it cannot be used for a Synchro or XYZ summon. The only reason you can Fusion Summon with it likely is because of Z-ARC. You are likely summoning Clear Wing, Crystal Wing, Starving Venom, or Greedy Venom off this as they Dragon Fusions and Synchros that can be used to summon Z-ARC as well as the Sorcerers in Pendulum Evolution being able to use them for the Fusion Summon as they require a Pendulum Dragon, Xyz Dragon, Synchro Dragon, and Fusion Dragon to use their effects to summon Z-ARC (though there are Magician Pendulums that count as those for the Fusion Summon). The other effect of Gate Zero is that you can put it in the Pendulum Zone if it is destroyed. That can be useful, as a 0 scale can work well with any high scale.

If you want to mess around with the Z-ARC deck, then go ahead and play this card. It isn't that bad.

Geez there is a lot to process here, and none of those things are stats. Supreme King Gate Zero is a means to an end. As a Level 7 Dark Fiend-type Pendulum Monster with 0 Atk and 0 Def, it better summon a great boss through that gate. In fact, it doesn't, but it tries to make the process easier. The monster effect that matters is if it is destroyed by battle or effect from the Monster Zone it can place itself in a Pendulum Zone. Its first monster effect can destroy both itself and another card to Special Summon a Dragon Fusion or Synchro Monster from the Extra Deck. That new monster is completely neutered, but Zero would get to go to the Pendulum Zone. While in the Pendulum Zone, you take no damage while controlling Z-Arc. Furthermore, if you have the other gate in the other Pendulum Zone, you can destroy both zone spells to search a Polymerization or a Fusion Spell Card from the deck.

Supreme King Gate Zero does a lot of things. However, it doesn't actually provide protection, and it doesn't actually summon the boss monster. Running the gates in multiples is almost a necessity just to destroy enough of themselves to even attempt to summon Z-Arc. I still would say this scores well if only because it surprisingly has versatility. As a very low Scale of 0 its potential to be splashed in other decks is high. I'm looking forward to a meta where these gates are used to their fullest.

Hello Pojo Fans,

Supreme King Gate Zero starts off the week after the Monday holiday.

A scale of 0 is something new for Pendulum Summoning, finally the Level 1 monsters are available to be summoned this way. DARK, Fiend, lot of support there for you to use. Built-in Waboku as a Pendulum Monster as long as you have Supreme King Z-ARC in some way on the field (to be later reviewed in the week). If you have Supreme King Gate Infinity, you can go -1 and get yourself a Fusion or Poly card from your deck. That's not a good trade, but you can still Pendulum Summon both these monsters back if you can refill the zones.

As a monster you get the same style of effect. Trade two cards (any card this time that you control along with this card), Special Summon a Dragon Fusion or Synchro from the Extra Deck. Downsides: ATK/DEF become 0, no effects, and can't be used for a Synchro or Xyz. Makes you wonder why do such a trade if you get a monster that is all but useless minus it being tributed or used a Fusion Material. Gate Zero does go to the Pendulum Zone when destroyed by battle or card effect, so that is a plus.

Until Next Time

Syn

I hope everyone had a good monday off work. And we're starting this tuesday off with the first of two new pendulums, Supreme King Gate Zero. Now Gate Zero may not seem like much aside from being the first of two 0 scale pendulums to come out of Maximum Crisis. Gate Zero is also part of the Supreme King archetype used by ARC-V 's final antagonist, Zarc, and are NOT to the Supreme King from GX *shudder*

Gate Zero is a level 7 dark, fiend with 0 attack and defence, armed with a phenominal scale of 0, it also sports a good number of effects for it's monster AND pendulum effects.

First off, we'll have a look at it's pendulum abilities. While you control Supreme King Dragon Z-ARC, you take no damage. And if you have Supreme King Gate Infinity in the other scale, you can destroy both this card and Infinity and add ANY polymerisation or fusion spell from your deck to your hand. And honestly, both those effects are amazing. Granted they only work with specific cards, but taking no damage at all is great. And adding any poly or fusion spell is even better, and if you felt like it, YES, Diffusion wave motion isn't forbidden from being searched by it.

Next comes Gate Zero's monster effects. You can target one other face-up card you control, destory Zero and that card, then special summon any fusion or synchro dragon from your extra deck. That monster can't be used as material for an xyz or synchro summon, its effect is negated and its attack becomes 0. Also, if Gate Zero is destroyed by battle or effect you can place it in a pendulum zone. Both Zero and Infinity share this last effect and it's really good for setting up further pendulum summons or just searching out a spell for fusions. Gate Zero's first monster effect is good for allowing the player to speed up the summoning of Z-ARC or for setting up further plays.
