Windwitch – Snow Bell

As discussed yesterday, Windwitches have harmony with a long list of other decks types. From Speedroids to Invoked to Majespecters, Windwitches were a perfect cog at the right time. And while Ice Bell is the star, Windwitch – Snow Bell is the second piece that offers some extra deck punch.

In the vein of monsters like Darklord Superbia and Zoodiac Whiptail, it’s always a plus when an important part of any deck type doesn’t specifically refer to that deck type. Where Snow Bell excels is in its ability to adapt to all types of wind decks. Having Snow Bell in hand is gold when you can get the other necessary pieces out. One Terrortop can get you that invincible Crystal Wing Synchro Dragon that Ice Bell could also bring out. And let’s not forget Clear Wing Fast Dragon, which just came out in the OCG and is a magnificent monster to summon when possible, especially in Speedroid hybrids. I’ve mentioned the Clear Wing synchro monsters several times the last two days, but it’s because I don’t want to sugarcoat the obvious. The Windwitches are monsters that can quickly get you to Clear Wing and its related monsters. Monster effect negation or monster summoning prevention is everything in the game right now.

As long as Terrortop is allowed to roam free, wind types will continue to be hyper aggressive, but even if that monster gets the ax, which is should, Windwitches have a lot of potential, and they should be players for a long time. Snow Bell is a must-run in the engine, but even if Windwitches don’t last long, the monster by itself could potentially be a tech play in wind decks for a long time, even after the Zelda format begins.
