Kamion, the Timelord

Kamion, the assassin of the Timelords. As I understand it, Kamion does not target, so that is really exceptional, especially in today’s meta. If I had to rank Kamion, I’d say he’s 2a and Lazion is 2b, as they both sit behind the superior Zaphion.

So in the Timelord engine, how many should be run? Well, by my reckoning, a combination of four to five of any of the lesser Timelords is probably best. Along with three Zaphion, three Time Maiden, and any other combination of cards you utilize to make the best use of them, they start to add up fast. It’s probably best to have a toolbox of singles and rely on Zaphion the most, especially once link monsters are added to the extra deck.

Being an earth monster is always a plus, but Kamion doesn’t have that “it” factor like Zaphion that allows him to be a nice tech option in other decks. So, for the time being, his main deck potential is limited to his own archetype. But he’s an excellent side deck option during formats when untargetable bosses are ruling at any given time.

Kamion, the Timelord is the new EARTH Timelord from Light's Revenge.
 
While all the other Timelords do mass removal of some sort (with the exception of Sadion), Kamion cycles back only one card your opponent has and does a tiny bit of burn damage. Sure, your opponent can't chain anything to the effect, but is it really worth it to run Kamion to cycle back one card and do 500LP damage? You can run a host of different cards that will destroy and do damage, or simply destroy the targeted card. This Timelord sadly isn't very practical to me and likely wouldn't see much play even in its own archetype.

Kamion, the Timelord is the most interesting of the bunch because it is excellent with non-targeting removal. At the end of the Battle Phase, shuffle one of your opponent's cards back into the deck. Then you can burn them for 500 damage. Honestly, the shuffling is the most important aspect here. It's why Erebus is so good. All the other aspects of this Earth Fairy are typical of these Timelords. This is one of the best for being able to remove any card, and the effect can't be responded to. Kamion has high splash potential in other decks that don't mind wasting a Normal Summon.

Today's review for Timelord week is Kamion, another level 10 fairy, but this time of the earth variety. Still with 0 attack and defence though.
 
Kamion comes packed with the standard package of Timelord effects. He can't be destroyed by battle or effects, nobody takes battle damage from attacks involving him, you can normal summon him without tribute if you control no monsters and once per turn during your standby phase he shuffles himself back into the deck.
 
Kamion's unique effect though, activates at the end of the battlephase when he battles. He shuffles 1 card the opponent controls into the deck and burns the opponent for 500 damage. That's actually pretty ok. Short of Quaking/Drowning/Storming Mirror forces, Kamion's attack will go through. And you'll be able to remove a card from the field while hitting for a small amount of damage. What makes this good, is that Kamion's effect doesn't target. So he gets round a lot of protection effects.
