Kozmo Tincan
- # BOSH-EN082

During either player's turn: You can banish this card; Special Summon 1 Level 2 or higher "Kozmo" monster from your hand. You can only use this effect of "Kozmo Tincan" once per turn. Once per turn, during the End Phase: You can pay 500 LP; reveal 3 "Kozmo" cards with different names from your Deck, your opponent randomly picks 1 for you to add to your hand, and you send the rest to the Graveyard.

Kozmo Tincan

Man this card was so good. During the year and a half or so of TCG Kozmo releases, nothing compared to this little guy, not even Dark Destroyer. And even though Destroyer was the monster that got restricted, there was no denying the sheer importance of Kozmo Tincan. Easily searchable and summonable in myriad ways, Tincan drastically increased the odds of winning by opening on turn 1 more than any other card, which is why it was my top monster card of 2016.

Of course, we already know the fate of Kozmos in the TCG now. Destroyer and Teleport got hit, ABC and Metalfoes ascended, and we don’t see much of Kozmo anymore in the big tournaments. And unfortunately, Tincan is an archetype-only card, with no real use outside of the theme. Will Kozmo ever see a revival in the future? Unfortunately, I doubt it. The deck was so reliant on Tincan and Destroyer that it would need its big boss back or a new boss to become relevant again. And because the theme was a TCG-exclusive at first, there’s no precedent for future support, because it’s never really been done before. The TCG-exclusives are meant to sell new cards, not support old, already-purchased cards. This is business in the end.

So Kozmo Tincan as currently rated is only as good as its archetype, and its future potential isn’t very great. But you never know. Old R2-D2 has made comebacks before.

Hello Pojo Fans,

Kozmo Tincan remains a good monster for the archetype, and became more useful as certain things started being hit by the ban list.

Effect ability during either players turn and wide-reaching Special Summon of a Kozmo monster from your hand (Level 2 or higher) works with the other Psychic-Type Kozmo's to drop bigger boss monsters. Its deckthinning ability at the End Phase for only 500LP may be even more useful than the Special Summon. Select 3 Kozmo cards with different names, get one randomly selected by your opponent, then the other two go to the grave for later use. Get effects off other Kozmo cards while you get a resource to your hand. Thin the deck of bigger Kozmo monsters or get that spell/trap you really needed. It being random and of your opponents choosing doesn't limit your amount of control over the card you want.

Still a great little monster to use if you are playing Kozmos.

How the mighty have fallen. Kozmo Tincan is still great, but it's great for a deck that just can't hang anymore. My original score was 4.5/5 but I'm reducing it because of the lack of big monsters it can tag into and the lack of Emergency Teleport. In and of itself, Kozmo Tincan is a weeny Psychic-type monster that combos. Since the combos (and the deck) have mostly died, so to goes my heart.

Kozmo Tincan, while unimpressive statswise (at 0 attack and defense, and obviously who doesn't really need an attack or defense) is great them for a Deck.  The effect to remove can happen during your turn, or your opponent's, and is replaced by another Kozmo on the Field (Level 2 or higher).  Then, you're guaranteed another card to your Hand via the second effect, for only 500 Lifepoints.  Plus, the card doesn't have to be a Monster, just a Kozmo card, so you could have any of the three be a Magic or Trap card also.  If you have three and you're playing Kozmo, you're using them all.
