Block Dragon
- #TDIL-EN034

Cannot be Normal Summoned/Set. Must be Special Summoned (from your hand or Graveyard) by banishing 3 EARTH monsters from your hand and/or Graveyard, and cannot be Special Summoned by other ways. Rock-Type monsters you control cannot be destroyed, except by battle. If this card is sent from the field to the Graveyard: You can add up to 3 Rock-Type monsters from your Deck to your hand, whose total Levels equal 8. You can only use this effect of "Block Dragon" once per turn.

Block Dragon

Finishing up the week, we have Block Dragon. A level 8 earth, rock monster who's made of lego. It boasts stats of 2500 attack and 3000 defence.

A fairly interesting number of effects are attached to him. Whilst he can't be normal summoned or set and he can only be special summoned through his own effect, he can special summon himself out of the hand OR graveyard by banishing 3 earth monsters from the hand or grave. Whilst he's on the field, rock monsters can only be destroyed in battle. And lastly, if he is sent to the grave, you can add upto 3 rock monsters from your deck who have a combined level of 8.

And straight away, he's Trade-In bait due to his ease of recovery from the grave. When he does die, he easily replaces himself with enough monsters to re-summon him again. He's an interesting monster and fits quite well into Magnet Warriors and Rock-stun, but sadly not many other decks can really use this to its full potential.

Block Dragon

Wow... this is the support that Rock monsters wanted for a while.  Strong stats.  Special Summonable from hand without tributing.  Banishing 3 monsters from graveyard can be a bit demanding.  To be honest, BLS is a powerhouse and requires only 2 banishes, and people still don't run him a lot.  So, this card is not very versatile especially open game unless you have a way to turbo the combo or recycle this card.  Making it only destroyable from battle does not prevent banishing or bouncing effects.  Even if this card gets Compuls'ed or PWWB'ed, you have to pay the banishing cost again.  However, immunity is a plus nonetheless.  Adding 3 monsters from deck to hand when sent from field to graveyard is a strong plus, but again, the steps I mentioned above are involved first.  This could be a nice card with strong lower level Rock monsters supporting it.

Hello Pojo Fans,

Block Dragon gives more support to Rock-Type decks.

Banish 3 EARTH monsters from the hand or grave to Special Summon this monster, easy. Protection for ALL Rock-Type monsters against destruction effects, even better. Then, when it hits the grave from the field you get to thin your deck, adding up to 3 Rock-Type monsters as long as their total starts equals 8. You have to make the 8, you can't go lower, it has to be exact, so that may limit your choices, depending on the build. Block Dragon can pull another Block Dragon, or it can go for two Magnet Warriors (the new Magnets Warriors are Level 3, so you'd need a Level 2). 2500ATK isn't high enough I think for a monster requiring a commitment of 3 monsters, however, the protection it offers against destruction makes up for that.

You won't be pulling 3 with its effect when it goes from the field to the graveyard. A plus off your monster leaving the field is always welcome. In a fun Rock-Type deck Block Dragon could be a force. If you have the means, summon two or more in a turn.

Block Dragon is a Level 8 Earth Rock-type monster with 2500 Atk and 3000 Def. I like Level 8 monsters in general, but this one can't be Normal Summoned or Set. But Trade-In is still a great option because Block Dragon can summon itself from the grave. The cost to Special Summon it from the hand or grave is to banish 3 Rock monsters from your hand or grave. Once this dragon hits the field, Rock monsters can only be destroyed by battle. So high defense plus destruction protection is good, but it won't win the game. Finally, if Block Dragon does get sent from the field to the grave, you can search up to 3 Rock monsters from the deck so long as their levels equal 8. Or you could just get another Block Dragon. The search effect is only once per turn, but multiple Block Dragons can be summoned in a single turn. Searching effects are strong, but this is practically unsummonable during the first turn, which is when you would want to search the most. Block Dragon is also inherently a defensive monster which might be good for the slower format to come, but not so great now.
