Labyrinth Wall

And the final day of Great Wall of Trump week.  This iconic card was used by the Para Dox brothers in the original anime.  It turned the game into a really interesting board game, but when the card came out, it was standard normal monster.  It had the best defense, and being searchable by Giant Rat was a plus.  But it wasn't even competitive back then, much less now.  As offensive stats matter more than defense.  So, it pretty much sucks now.  On the bright side, it would probably make the best wall out of everything we listed.  Intruders would be trapped in a maze forever and, I guess, whoever is able to make it out of the maze has more than earned their citizenship.

I have no regrets dedicating a whole week to Lord Trump and his walls.  We need to make Yugioh great again!

3/5 - Back then

We end Wall Week with Labyrinth Wall. It’s Level 5 and has 0 ATK and 3000 DEF.

…And that’s it. Nothing else. It’s not very good.

Happy Wall Week, everyone.

Labyrinth Wall

It’s easy to dismiss this very old and dated monster, but every now and then, something odd pops up that makes use of previously-thought-to-be trash cards. Case in point: Jack’s Knight. No one would have ever imagined it would be used in top decks, until along came the right cards in the right situation. And Jack’s Knight happened to be the level 5 light-attribute normal monster with the highest attack available for Brilliant Monarchs.

Well Labyrinth Wall is pretty much the exact same as Jack’s Knight with 3000 DEF instead of 1900 ATK. And it’s one of only two normal monsters with that kind of defense for its level. You never know what might come along one day, especially for the underprivileged rock types. I just know that while spells and traps like yesterday’s COTD have very little hope, there’s always a small beam of light for monsters, even though it may dwindle as more and more cards are released. This is especially true for normal monsters, since the available pool grows at an extremely small rate.

It's a Normal Monster. It has 3000 Def. It's Earth. It's Rock. It's Labyrinth Wall. That's almost all there is to say here. Normal Monster support could get this wall out to block something. Or your opponent could just chose not to attack until they have a way to get rid of it. But wait, it's also Level 5, so it requires one tribute to Normal Summon Labyrinth Wall. Not worth the tribute since it just delays the game instead of winning you the game. Further more, Magical Labyrinth and Wall Shadow are terrible. Don't run those either. The best defense is a good offense and Labyrinth Wall's offense is 0 Atk. Or just run Waboku to stall.
