Daily Since 2002!

Absorb Fusion
- #CORE-EN092

Add 1 "Gem-Knight" card from your Deck to your hand, then you can apply this effect. ● Fusion Summon 1 "Gem-Knight" Fusion Monster from your Extra Deck, by banishing Fusion Materials listed on it from your hand or your side of the field. You can only activate 1 "Absorb Fusion" per turn. You cannot Special Summon monsters the turn you activate this card, except "Gem-Knight" monsters.

Being an easy-to-use ROTA-like searcher, it's a 3-of in the Gem Knight deck for that reason.  Fusing is naturally a -2 process, but the searching helps replenish that.  The fusion materials, however, are banished and unfortunately come from your hand/field rather than graveyard or deck.  Won't be competitive but good for its deck.

Absorb Fusion is a fairly simple normal Spell Card. You can only activate one per turn and when you do, you can only Special Summon Gem-Knight monsters for that turn. However, it has no real cost, so it has that going for it. The first effect is great. Just add any "Gem-Knight" card from the Deck to your Hand. Then you can banish Fusion materials from your Hand or field to Fusion Summon a "Gem-Knight" Fusion monster.  I don't believe Gem-Knights want to be banished, but the first effect is absolutely necessary for a dedicated Gem-Knight deck. Get a regular Gem-Knight fusion spell card and hope for the best.

Score: 3/5 It's good but Gem-Knights aren't that relevant.

Art: 3/5 The thing about perspective is that sometimes you don't know if it's coming towards you or going away from you.

Finally, I have all seven Chaos Emeralds!” -Shadow the Hedgehog

Well that's what this card's art reminds me of. Sue me.

Gem Knights are pretty good, especially the Fusion and XYZ ones, but now you can get your Fusion ones out a lot faster with Absorb Fusion. The only downside to this card is that using it makes you remove certain monsters from play, and even that can be worked around with cards like Return from the Different Dimension.

So, yeah. This card's pretty sweet..... for Gem Knight decks, at least. Not so much anywhere else.

Final Score: 5/5 for Gem Knights
