Daily Since 2002!

U.A. Penalty Box
- #CROS-EN089

At the start of the Damage Step, if your "U.A." monster battles an opponent's monster: You can banish that opponent's monster until your opponent's 2nd End Phase. You can only use this effect of "U.A. Penalty Box" once per turn. You can banish this card from your Graveyard; add 1 "U.A." Spell Card from your Deck to your hand.

Baneful

The first effect will slow down the opponent very much.  By banishing the card, it'll avert graveyard effects, detract from the opponent's field presence, allow you to deal with high-ATK threats without targeting and clear you in for direct attacks.  Yes, the opponent will get their cards back two turns later, but by then, they'll be getting stomped on and their cards won't be as advantageous as they would've been if they had utilized them from the start.  This card is a Continuous Trap, so it's an on-going effect, and since it applies on your opponent's too, it's going to be really tough for them to get an attack in (unless they use removal on your UA monster first).

Now, the 2nd effect.  It needs to hit the graveyard before you can use it's searching ability to +1 off of it.  You can dump it from deck via Lavalval Chain.  You can discard it to meet the cost of Perfect Ace.  You can destroy it via Dunker if you're desperate.  But possibly, the opponent will have no choice but to use removal on it themselves because the first effect can be very disrupting.

Essential for the UA deck.

Paladin

Continuing the U.A. Theme, we come to U.A. Penalty Box.  Now this one I like.  It's a Continuous Trap, with the downfall obviously of having to stay on the Field.  So when your U.A. battles an opponent's Monster, you can remove your opponent's Monster from play (during the Damage Step) until the second End Phase.  So this isn't permanent, and you can only use this once a turn, but during a Battle on either player's turn, so that's good.  Also, you can remove this card from play from your Graveyard, add a U.A. Magic card from your Deck to your Hand.  So it can pay for itself and add a resource, and it doesn't even have to be the turn it goes to the Graveyard or anything. A useful card for the Deck for sure.
