Sorry about missing the last part of last week, I found myself without internet, but it's a new week and I'm back. Chirubime, Princess of Autumn Leaves opens the week, and she's quite the interesting Plant Monster. Earth, Level 8, hence requiring two Tributes, and 1800 attack but a very impressive 2800 defense. She adds attack protection to all your face-up Plants, ie, she's the only one your opponent can attack, and if she's in Defense, which she better be, that's good. When this card is destroyed by Battle or by Card effect (so long as your opponent did it and you control it) you can Special Summon a Plant Monster from your Deck. Present company excluded of course. She has to go to the Graveyard to get the second effect however. Is she good, yea, she's a good bit of Monster for Plants. Is she worthy of two Tributes? Absolutely not. It's good you can still get the protection effect if you Special Summon her, so you don't have to Tribute Set her. She's good, but just good. You're Plant Deck honestly probably survives without her.

Starting off this week we have Chirubimé, Princess of Autumn Leaves, some new Plant support. Statwise, she is a EARTH/Plant which is good, with 1800 ATK which is really bad for a level 8 and 2800 DEF which is good.

Effectwise, it has an attack protection effect for all face-up plants but this one. A nice effect but it is only useful if this card is in DEF mode otherwise and good level 4 beatstick will run over it.I ts second effect is better allowing you to special summon any Plant (barring another Chirubimé, Princess of Autumn Leaves) from your deck if this card is sent to the graveyard. It doesn’t have to be destroyed as long as it goes from the field to the graveyard, you get another monster to replace it.

Overall a solid monster but this card is really designed for defending and getting out other Plants. Not the worst Plant ever made but not the Greatest.

New month and we're starting it off with the lovely Chirubime, Princess of Autumn Leaves. An Earth, Plant monster, Chirubime is a Level 8 and has 1800ATK/2800DEF. “Your opponent cannot target face-up Plant-Type monsters for attacks, except this one. If this card in your possession is sent to your Graveyard by your opponent's card (either by battle or by card effect): You can Special Summon 1 Plant-Type monster from your Deck, except "Chirubimé, Princess of Autumn Leaves"”.

Earth and a plant equals plenty of support for the princess. While she is on the field your opponent can only attack her and not any other face-up Plant-Type monsters. If you can summon out two Chirubimes then you will lock up your opponent from attacking any Plant-Type monsters. Her defense resembles a level eight, but not her attack. She won't be winning many battles unless she's helped by something (Black Garden maybe). As a level eight she can combo with Trade-In if you are running several level eight monsters. “Possession” means anywhere you have the card (hand and/or on the field). Chirubime's effect will go off from your hand or the field, a big plus. Special Summoning a monster from your Deck is always good. When Chirubime's effect activates, you can Special Summoning another Plant-Type monster from your deck except Chirubime. Dandylion, Spore, Lonefire, Tytannial, etc.

Her attack doesn't help her effect of being the only face-up Plant-Type monster that can be attacked while she is on the field. Her attack doesn't match her level, which forces you to play cards to compensate for that (Trade-In, Soul Exchange, etc). That all aside, there are cards you can play that will allow her to be very helpful, and 2800DEF will hold up against a lot of monsters. Special Summon her in defense and you have a strong wall to hide behind and make moves with other Plant-Type monsters. Chirubime, in a plant deck has potential to be a good card.

Chirubimé, Princess of Autumn Leaves

Hello everyone! I enjoyed my brief 15 minutes of fame, being at the top of the COTD page with Ghostrick Mary due to the rest of the team being absent. But a new week is a new week, and back near the bottom, I go!

But anyway, back to Chirubime. Chirubime is a nice name.... Ok, on topic.

In a game where monsters are disposable, it's attack-targeting effect won't always be relevant, but players will still be able to find interesting combos with it. With 1800 ATK, it's a decent beater, but it's underwhelming for a monster that is not so easily summoned. 2800 DEF is nice, but we decided long ago that defense walls don't amount to much in YGO. It's not worth two-tributes to say the least, but thankfully there are other ways to summon it, especially with Plant support

The effect you are using this card for is the Special Summon effect. So long as it's a Plant-type monster, there's no restriction. It could be a huge beater or a small monster with an invaluable effect. Whatever card you need at the moment, you get. And since a card replaces this card, you can work this into a plus one.

This card does have flaws, like it's largely irrelevant stats and some slight difficulty in being normal summoned (if only this were a LV6 monster!). But still, it has lots of potential.

It's definitely not necessary or vital to all Plant decks, but this card is a viable option for those who want to use it.

Attention, dearest reader. You see, even though you place me on a pedestal meant for the divine, I am merely a man. Sure, I am magnificence incarnate, a bastion of honor and intelligence personified, but still just a man—a man that can make errors. I know this is a lot for you to swallow, my guppies, but such is reality. Take comfort in the fact that I see my errors and am aware of them, you lucky babies.

It seems in my Queen Angel of Roses review I made a typo when I said: "Once per turn, during your Main Phase, she rids the field of the weakest monster." That was meant to be Standby Phase, so whilst typing that I firmly held "standby phase" in mind, but my fingers were moving faster than my eyes' perception could keep up with. No, this in no way affects the score I gave the card, as it is just a typo.

Secondly, during the review of Obedience Schooled I mentioned Ojama getting supported. This is an actual error, as I simply skimmed the card. No, Ojama doesn't benefit from it (they would become so powerful even full powered Dragon Rulers would tremble in their non-boots) as it only works on Effect Beasts. It doesn't change my rating of the card since vanillas were never part of the tally.

With that out of the way, let's come to the card you came here to read about: Chirubimé, Princess of Autumn Leaves. She is the fourth in a series of Plant princess that represent a particular season (Tytannial [winter], Talaya [spring] and Marina [summer]), with hers being Fall/Autumn. Like her fellows, she's a level 8 Plant monster and has an effect that triggers when a Plant is about to die or dies. Hers lets her summon a Plant-type monster from your deck whenever she dies, except a copy of herself.

Basically, in exchange for her lack of protection, she gives you another card from your deck. Though that begs the question "why didn't you summon that card off Lonefire instead of this?" Her effect is good, but all her other stats play against it, and as a result, she's what they call "meh."
