Evilswarm Excition Knight is one of my favorite type of cards...a Light attributed, Fiend type Monster.  This is a Rank 4 XYZ Monster, with only 1900 attack and a big fat 0 defense.  I'm going to start by saying, ironically, this card is probably better being splashed into a Deck than in the actual Deck it belongs.  The thing is, the effect, conditional as it is, can be powerful.  Your opponent has to have more cards in his/her Hand and on the Field than you do total, which leads to all cards on the Field, minus this one, being destroyed.  The trick being, your opponent takes no further Damage this turn.  Now, the effect is very unique, as it must be activated (albeit once) during a chain OR the opponent's Battle Phase, merely for the cost of one XYZ Material.  See, I think it's more fun outside of it's Deck, while this card isn't a game winner (on its own, regardless of the Deck) IN the Deck, it's likely to be expected.  Outside, likely not so much.  It's hard to justify a card, good as it may be, since it's not that strong, stops further Damage, and doesn't win the game.  But I still say see what happens.

Evilswarm Exciton Knight is the Xyz monster everyone has been waiting for. It is destined for a spot in any deck that plays level 4 monsters. It has the ability to single handedly even out the playing field. It is also the reason why setting a big back row may not be a good idea. Case in point: Your opponent goes first and sets a monster and three or four cards to their back row. You summon a level 4 monster and special summon a level 4 monsters on your turn and then special summon Exciton and use its effect. That leaves your opponent with two or three cards in hand and you with Exciton and four cards in hand, giving you a plus three or four advantage. Even though you will not be able to inflict any damage, you gain card advantage and that is what wins games.

Your opponent is not going to attack if they have more cards than you. They will more than likely try to whittle their hand and field down or try not to have a field if they can not get rid of Exciton. With 1900 in attack, Evilswarm Exciton Knight will probably not last a turn unless you can protect it or have Honest, but chances are that you will only get to use the effect once. But once is all you need to gain advantage or to level the playing field and get you back into the game.

Decks like Evilswarm, Constellar, Hunder, Gravekeeper, Noble Knight, Harpie, and HERO decks are prime candidates for Evilswarm Exciton Knight. With Fire Fist decks probably being the deck to beat in this format, Exciton is a great Extra deck card to have. Fire Fist decks load the back field and have a great search engine to load the hand so they will normally have more cards that other decks. Unfortunately, Exciton is a Secret in every country because everyone needs it for their Extra deck.

Evilswarm Exciton Knight
LIGHT/Fiend/Xyz/Effect/ Rank 4/1900/0
2 Level 4 monsters
Once per chain, during your Main Phase or your opponent's Battle Phase, if your opponent has more total cards in their hand and their side of the field than you do: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; destroy all other cards on the field, also your opponent takes no further damage this turn (this is a Quick Effect).

Another new Xyz monster from Legacy of the Valiant and we have Evilswarm Exciton Knight, a new addition to the “lswarm” series of monsters. Statwise there isn’t anything great, only 1900 ATK for a Rank 4 and 0 DEF. It is a LIGHT monster and a fiend so there is support there.

Effectwise is very nasty, Once per chain, remember it can start its own chain, if your opponent has more cards that you do, you destroy everything except this card for the cost of one material. OF course to balance it out the opponent takes no further damage, which does hurt this card’s effectiveness after all what is the point of destroying cards if you can’t take full advantage of it. Also if this is part of a chain it isn’t going to negate anything, so that is something to be mindful of.

Overall a potentially powerful effect but poor stats and the fact that you can’t fully capitalize on the field destruction do hurt this card.

Evilswarm Exciton Knight

Howdy there, today's card is Evilswarm Exciton Knight, I'll be honest, I don't understand the hype of this card, yes technically he is basically a rank 4 black rose, but he really doesn't allow for plays afterwards, the nice effect of using it and not dying allows for two chances, but still the fact it is situational. I for one believe it is overhyped and will lose interest once people realize the utility really only comes when you wasted all of your resources and looking for a reset, but there are so many ways to stop him now, fiendish chain, skill prisoner, breakthrough skill, hell a lot of monsters don't die, even yesterdays card won't die. So great, but I don't see a bright future.

Traditional: 3/5 (Mini Ced!! Hah ~)
Advanced: 4/5 (For now, but I hold true that is going to lose popularity)

Art: 6/5 Not going to lie a cosmic bug humanoid with a bad ass sword, wouldn't &%#@ with him.

Cyberplum

Hey everyone, hope your week is going well thus far.  Today's review covers what probably is the most anticipated card of Legacy, which of course is Evilswarm Exciton Knight.

This thing...  It's another generic rank 4, requiring two level 4 monsters of any sort to make.  Then for your trouble, you get a 1900 atk monster (not great) with a field-clearing effect.  Basically if the sum of your cards vs your opponent's on field and in hand is less than their's, you get to nuke everything on the field aside from this guy.  This works on either player's turn, though your opponent can't take damage the turn you do it.

Obviously this is game-breaking.  If you're getting beat up by a couple of monsters mid-late game, you bring this out with nothing in hand, you're going to gain massive advantage in one quick move.  Sure you can't do damage the turn you do this, but given what you just did to the opponent that really doesn't matter.  AND you can do it during the opponent's battle phase?  You probably won't use that too often, but it's available if you need to.  Lastly, if you happen to be playing Evilswarms, you can protect this with Pandemic.

This card is crazy folks, if you can even consider making a rank 4 monster in your deck, this houd be in your side.  It's seriously the Dracossack of this set.

Hello Pojo Fans,

Today we're taking a look at Evilswarm Exciton Knight. An Xyz monster, Light, Rank 4 Fiend with 1900ATK/0DEF. Any 2 level 4 monster will do in Xyz Summoning this monster. “Once per chain, during your Main Phase or your opponent's Battle Phase, if your opponent has more total cards in their hand and their side of the field than you do: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; destroy all other cards on the field, also your opponent takes no further damage this turn (this is a Quick Effect).”

A light fiend monster isn't ever common aside from the Fabled archtype, Honest can be used with Knight to help protect it if you've used up its effect. Being able to activate its effect during either players turn in some form is a definite plus. Not needing “Evilswarm” monsters to summon this monster makes it more versatile to use. During your Main Phase or your opponent's Battle Phase you can detach one material from Exciton Knight to destroy all other cards on the field if your opponent has more cards in their hand and on their side of the field than you. A Dark Hole and Heavy Storm effect that can be used once per chain is a great effect. Xyz Summon Exciton Knight, detach and clear the filed for an open attack from Knight, or put him on the field and force your opponent to have lesser cards than you before their Battle Phase. You will likely be activating this right after Xyz Summoning Knight, but it's great that he isn't going to be defenseless at the end of your turn. The effect of Knight will resolve even if, after activation, cards are activated, making the opponents total cards equal or less than yours. Though almost any deck can use this monster, Infernities and decks that typically have less cards in their hand benefit greatly from this card.

His stats aren't very good. 1900ATK is some of the lowest attack points for a Rank 4 that I've ever seen, and 0DEF doesn't help either. After you have used up his effect he's a sitting duck for almost any monster, depending on other cards to protect him. The opponent can avoid the effect of Knight if they have less or the same number of cards as you before entering their Battle Phase. As for your Main Phase, your opponent could always chain to Knight's effect and end up with less cards than you, causing his effect to fizzle.

Exciton Knight is a chess match when he's on the field. As long as you make sure your opponent has more cards than you, you will be alright.

Evilsworn Excitation Knight

EEK is a card that could either by immensely powerful or useless... Or somewhere in between. It's all over the place and how useful it will be is dynamic. It's contingent on a few things. That your opponent has more cards than you. That you have nothing of value on your field. That your opponent has more than just 1 or 2 cards. On top of that, the fact that your opponent's life points are totally safe restricts you further (though it was probably smart to include the clause in there). Keep in mind that this same card could be a quick -2 for the opponent that turns around the duel as well.

All in all, due to the fact that it really doesn't cost you much to run 1 in your Extra Deck, it's worth a try. Perhaps it's too all-over-the-place to give a solid recommendation, but it's certainly something you should be looking into.

Traditional: 1/5 (Bad) – Over a dozen better easier to use removal options

Let's Morphing!

If you do not get that reference, I recommend you search it on youtube. Yes, it's Sentai-related, just like this card. That is the relation. Yes. This is Roach embracing his Kamen Rider/Masked Rider roots.

Evilswarm Exciton Knight is the new Black Rose Dragon, but far more powerful due to having a Quick effect, being more easily summoned and its effect being reusable. See, he may look pretty basic on paper, but then so did the Dragon Rulers. His effect isn't at all situational since the very act of Xyz Summoning gives you -1 in terms of card advantage, and that puts you behind your opponent, which means you can just go right ahead and blow up their field. Yes indeedy.

The beautiful thing is, if that opponent tries to make Roach fall into a Bottomless Trap Hole, you can just chain his effect to BTH's activation, then your card resolves and blows up the field and then gets banished. It's not really much of a loss since you cleared away your opponent's field and left yourself probably in a good position. If you had Forbidden Lance then your Exciton just jumps over the hole and remains on the field.

How to counter the Roach: Effect Negation or bust. This is truly a fantastically-designed card.
