Azure-Eyes Silver Dragon, who kinda has artwork reminiscent of Stardust Dragon, is a Level 9 Synchro (hence Level 1 Tuner, and Level 8 Blue Eyes White Dragon) of the Dragon type, Light attribute, with 2500 attack and 3000 defense. This card is Synchro Summoned with a Tuner and one or more Non-Tuner Monsters. This Synchro (while strong but not as strong as you'd like at Level 9 with 2500 attack) is welcome not just to Blue Eyes and/or Dragon Decks, but to Normal Monster Decks as well. It protects your Dragons you currently control from effects until the end of the next turn. But it also allows you to target and Special Summon a Normal Monster from your Graveyard once a turn, during your Standby Phase. If you've got room in your Extra Deck, and play the right Deck, you play this.

To wrap up this week we look at Azure-Eyes Silver Dragon the new Synchro Monster from the Saga of Blue-Eyes White Dragon Structure Deck. First off Statwise isn’t hot for a level 9, 2500 ATK means that a lot of monsters can walk over it and while 3000 DEF is good, it is rare to synchro summon for DEF. Also it isn’t generic as it requires Normal monsters as non-tuner material, which slightly hurts its playability.

But as always low stats for a level has to equal good effects, and thankfully Azure-Eyes Silver Dragon delivers. It has a protection effect for all the Dragons you control when this card is special summon until the end of the next turn. Of course only those on the field when the effect resolves are protected which is a bit of a downer.

The second effect is the big one though, during each of your Standby Phases you can special summon a normal monster from your grave. Chances are it will be the Blue-Eyes you used as Synchro Material but the fact it can be an Normal Monster gives both Blue-Eyes and Normal decks a nice bit of support.
Overall, if you like Synchro monsters and Normal Monster and Dragons this is a card for you, the meh stats are a downer, but at least the effects help out.
